LSU needs to get the ball first

So if we win the toss, take the ball. If Bama wins it, they’ll likely defer.

Use the 2 weeks to design an opening series that milks the clock then scores.

Then do an onsides kick.

Rinse and repeat with a clock eating drive.

Bama won’t get the ball till the 2nd quarter.

Only one quarter without D White.

We get the ball first. We score. Kick onside, don’t recover. Bama ,with great field position, scores a TD. Halfway through the first quarter, you didn’t get what you wanted bc that’s not smart football.

Bad idea. Probably has never happened after an opening drive score...and never will.

No onside kick but a long arse ten minute drive could limit what Bama can do.

A sentence that has never been uttered by ANY pro or college coach late in the first half: "Gee, I sure am glad we are kicking off to start the second half." You ALWAYS defer if you win the opening toss!!!!

If you're so confident in our onside kick abilities the correct move would be defer to the second half and do an onside kick to start the game
