We might find a competent quarterback now that Les and Cam are gone. Honestly other than inheriting Matt and JR from Saban, and landing Mett as a transfer Miles sucked goat balls at assessing and developing QB's. Given the ineptitude of our QBs and the PeeWee football pass scheme it's a wonder any WR came to LSU.

I agree the previous regime was atrocious as far as developing QBs goes, but that doesn't completely exonerate Harris of all sins. Mett was able to produce as he got better and better with more experience, Harris failed to show any signs of growth, some of that has to fall on the player himself.

Again, I put that on the staff. How could they not have seen the signs that this guy would be this unprepared? How did Harris make it as far as he did, with that result we saw on the field?

If we have a bad apple, or someone that they just can't reach, they have to "process" that guy. That's what the good programs are doing. They're not throwing good money after bad. If he's not dedicated to his craft, he should not have even seen the field in the first place.

These are judgments I would expect a good coaching staff to make. They can't just say that he's not buying in after the fact and use him as a scapegoat.

Harris does not have IT. Period. Glad he'll finish his career here but he had multiple chances to show something and didn't

Well then he shouldn't even be on the team, or at the least he shouldn't be in competition for the job. If he is then that's on the coaching staff.

The team has got to create a culture of accountability.

I thought you guys had already figured this out, but I guess you haven't. The only QBs that have been good at LSU over the last 10 years, had not started out their college career under Miles. Statistically, Harris's 2015 year was exactly the same as Mett's 2012 year. Yeah we saw some improvement in Mett, but we also saw a 5th year senior with years of experience and coaching at other places who had two of the currently best WRs in the NFL right now.

I'd like to see what Harris could have done under Ensminger and what he could do next year under Canada, IF Scott doesn't take the job. Can't watch Etling anymore. He's way too mediocre to get us anywhere.

LSU needs a Heisman candidate at QB?
If only LSU could play against a "Heisman quality" OU quarterback ...wonder how that would turn out.

You don't think it's odd that Harris didn't receive any work at all once the slate was wiped clean and Ensminger took over ?

get what you're saying. I used to believe LSU could win the SECW with the 'game manager' type QB, like many others.

With our competition in the SEC, including but not limited to Bama, I've jettisoned that and am now convinced we have to have that 'playmaker' QB.

Do not care if it's a Manziel that does so much with his legs, or a Mayfield that primarily creates time with his legs to give the passing game a boost... but it has to be someone who creates one way or the other. Either way, to win the West and the SEC regularly, I think that's what it is going to take.

A Matt Flynn/Matt Mauck type is still good enough.

We aren't anywhere in the neighborhood of that right now.

Ed didn't want to rock the boat. Knowing he had Guice and Fournette, and a ridiculous defense, he saw that Etling's ability to be a game manager was good enough for LSU to win most of their games. Of course, the offense was non existent vs any defense with a pulse all year long. At most schools Harris would have been allowed to play a bit longer and see if he improved throughout the year. I mean shite Etling was awful against Jacksonville St and Auburn, and then steadily improved playing weak defenses.

I still think he could turn it around, but honestly, I'd rather us go with youth in Scott so we can have something to build on for 2018.

Your dislike for Etling is odd.

To say he was awful vs jack state is beyond retarded and he gave us a chance to win vs auburn.

You should quit whining like a bitch about Danny Etling.
If I were a betting man he'll be the guy next year.
As of today and what he accomplished this past year he Absolutley should be.

Do yourself and the board a favor and get over it.

Bama is winning with the worst QB I've seen in a long time, including at LSU.

LSU needs a better offensive line more than anything

Weve got ours. Justin McMillan. In fact as a state 6A champion senior he passed for more yards and touchdowns (and only 4 INTs) than Baker did as a senior. People need to quit writing him off. I will not be surprised if hes the starter next year
You think McMillan is going to start over Etling and Scott?

You're entitled to your opinion, but that's and stuff right there.

He may be starting at Texas State or Sam Houston State in 2017. Wont be at LSU.................

Pretty sure accuracy is a talent and as far as accuracy goes he has next to none.
