That’s semi surprising, LSU also moved up 3 spots in Kenpom from 60 to 57.

Last Kenpom I looked at Mississippi Valley was dead last.

They’re the worst team in college basketball this season.

Do we play even a single team in the SEC where our talent is equal to or above our opponents'?

Naturally this is a subjective sort of question. But vandy, Missouri, South Carolina, Georgia, and ole miss. I would say we have similar levels of talent. Ole miss is an experienced team that probably wins more games than us for that reason.
There are also a few teams that are playing above their talent level like Kentucky and oklahoma.
Just because the conference is good doesnt mean we are massive underdog every week. But there are some damn good teams.

The composite rankings have us 11th in talent for the SEC but we do have more top 100 recruits and more veteran production than some of the teams who are higher than us in that ranking so like you said, it’s hard to quantify 100%.

Don't sleep on Georgia. Asa Newell can really really play

I agree, but I’d still put them on our level.

There’s not much difference between 6 through 15 in the SEC. They’ll probably all be somewhere around .500 in conference play.

15 sec teams are not going to the tourney.

12 is what they’re predicting right now. The rest of the country is really bad this season.

Playing away games in the SEC is not easy. It doesn't matter who you play. I'll be happy with a split (Missouri or Ole Miss).

If we start 3 - 1, that will be huge. If we start 1 - 3, that will be disastrous. If we can just go 10- 8, we will make easily make the tournament. Heck, this year, going 8 - 10, could make the tournament.

We won't go on a winning streak of 3 or more games in the SEC, so that's why the first four games are very important.

Agree with your comments. Chest and Collins are good, but not down low bangers. We do need to let them use the skill sets, but will run into trouble with the teams with strong post players and good coaching. Reed was our best post player. I love the court savy that all the new guards seem to have, and also love that we have 2 or 3 guys that want the ball with the game on the line. This is a fun team to watch, but will probably be middle of the pack in the league. McMahon is slowly looking like a good hire.
