got nothing against state except when Lsu plays them, but if state were to win on Sat i think it would make Lsu job even harder. Saban not like to lose two in a row. Tigers have their work cut out for them with Bama, followed up by State the next week. Will be most difficult to beat both teams.

Miss State last season was the only team to really play either Bama or LSU anywhere close.
Bama 24 Miss st 7
LSU 19 Miss st 6

While both Bama & LSU went on to beat all other by at least 30, or dam close to it. It could be interesting. I know the talking heads on ESPN are giving Miss St. alot of love, stating how thier secondary can man up on Bama's WR and hold thier own. Its college football, crazier things have happened

Neither Bama nor Miss St. has played a team as good as Texas A&M, Florida or South Carolina.

It is possible one or both of these teams is over-rated.

I am not suggesting that they are bad, but Alabama may not be unbeatable.

Possibly, but highly unlikely. Good luck State.

This.

Wouldn't want the gumps coming in after a loss anyway.

I work with a MSST fan who truly believes they are going to win. I've talked some others who feel the same way. Not sure where all the confidence comes from. I'll be cheering for them, but I don't think so

Alabama hasn't faced anything like they'll face Saturday.

And MSU hasnt face anyone remotely close to what they will face on Saturday.

Perhaps their fanbase doesn't subscribe to the notion that being ultra-negative is any fun, like ours seems to. I remember, years ago it seems, when LSU would be having a good record and facing a top foe, and we were all jacked up, instead of miserable. Maybe it has something to do with striving to be the best, instead of fearing we aren't the best anymore.

The spread is 24 points. Vegas isn't dumb.

Bama wouldn't be intimidated by State, no matter where they played the game. I mean, the 1st and 2nd quarters might be okay to watch...but after halftime

Anything is possible in college football, but this may be a little too much to hope for.

Our team needs to be 100% prepared whether it's a 7-1 Bama team or an 8-0 Bama team.

Meh. I think it's this new found success getting to their head. It's one thing to be confident, another to scoff at a 24 pt spread

2 great advantages to this bye week:
LSU gets healthier while Bama plays an SEC game
LSU gets what is likely to be good tape of how a strong opponent approaches Bama

If Bama beats LSU, it will be because they are simply better.

spread is too high IMO. Put Auburn jerseys on those same guys, it might be 10.

I was waiting for someone to post this. I don't believe that MSU will beat Bama on the road, but I think it's silly that everyone seems to be over looking this game like MSU is an afterthought. This will be Bama's first real test; they haven't played anyone worth a damn to this point.

Oklahoma in 2003 was the best team in History until they got their arses handed to them against K St, so if I hear another broadcaster refer to the "eye test" about Alabama I'm going to puke. The "eye test"is what's wrong with the current system. Playoffs can't get here soon enough!
