LSU MBKB: Is there now precedence for RJ Luis to be eligible?

Both accepted money from professional teams
Both made no official roster
Both participated in no affiliated games with their respective franchise.
And as far as I’m aware, RJ Luis is and has been remaining around the program, correct?

Luis was waived by the Celtics before signing an Exhibit 10 contract with the Maine Celtics, Boston's G League affiliate. The Maine Celtics then waived Luis, who was injured, before he played a game.

I don't believe pre-season games count toward a player's service time/tenure.
If the UT kid is ruled eligible, I don't know how it doesn't help with Luis.

I have no idea if pre season games count towards service or tenure in the NBA. I’m just saying that he played in games and the UT guy didn’t. That’s the difference between the two.

The NCAA doesn't care about precedence. They've shown that time and time again. The only thing consistent about their rulings are their inconsistencies.

After looking into it a little more, players do not accrue service time, nor do they receive games checks for pre-season competition in the NBA. So, by NBA standards, he never appeared in a game.
What (imo) differentiates the two is Luis signed a contract with an NBA orginzation after going undrafted, whereas the UT guy didn't.
Still, Luis didn't sign a guaranteed NBA contract. He signed a two way deal, didn't play in the SL, was traded, waived, signed a 10 day with $0 guaranteed (payment only guaranteed if he made the roster), was waived, and never actually appeared on the G-league roster.
So at most he got a signing bonus as part of his UDFA or 10 day contracts. So we're talking, at the absolute ceiling, he could've gotten about $170k. It's very possible he never got a direct deposit from any of these contracts.
He's got a much stronger case than I originally thought.
