One of the reasons many go to LSU is to have the ultimate college experience, which means going to football games. Take that away, you might as well go to LSUS.

I think this is a terrible idea.

As an alum and someone who works very hard to convince people to support our university, I know that one of the big selling points is to lean on an alum's positive experience with LSU. We want all our students to have the "LSU experience" and to develop a love for the university.

Anything that pushes students further away from the university is a bad idea, and this is one such idea. Less students enjoying the game = less alums that fully develop into the LSU community. We shouldn't be distancing our future lifeblood from LSU.

Again, TERRIBLE idea.

Hey Alleva, why don't you go back to the old system, show up at gate with your ID and get in.

This will allieviate a lot of the problem. It may not be popular, but more seats will be filled.

My 2 biggest problem is this is onl the ADs first year, what is he trying to become LSU's Roger Goodell?

LSU really screwed the pooch big time when they hired this guy. He is either totally clueless when it comes to LSU's traditions or he doesn't seem to give a shite about them.

LSU does nothing for it's students, all they care about is $$$ so they can ride around in their fancy little cars. 3000 tickets is 1/4 of the student section.

I am not s student, have not been for a while now. However, this would be a huge mistake on his part. The students have a better track record of showing up and sticking around at games than does season ticket holders or general admission. It is a cheap way to give college kids something to do and they tend to make more noise in bad games than any other section of the stadium. Let the students keep their seats. When he can keep the upper decks full for all these bad out of conference games, then talk about making more seats available for the general public, but from what I saw he had alot of empty seats this year.

+10000. I feel the exact same way. The student section is what makes Tiger Stadium. Every home SEC game that section is jam packed. You have to get into the stadium an hour and a galf before kickoff just to get a good seat. If you schedule better teams then more students will stick around for the games.

They should require all girls sit on a boy's lap. That would take care of the space and attendance problem.

This is something all of us agree about. There are empty seats throughout the stadium for those games and many of us are sick of this type of schedule. I'm glad we open 2009 against Washington. Yes, they've been down, but they are a member of a BCS conference and it's great for those of us on the west coast to go to the game.

The problem is not just attendance in the student section - but attendance throughout the stadium. The West Upper Deck is rarely full for each game for example.

Also, if LSU keeps scheduling these boring rent a win teams then they need to come up with some new ideas to keep the fans interested in staying in Tiger Stadium past halftime - Copying the piped in music of other schools is obviously not the answer.

And speaking of LSU students - I still can't believe how the students have been screwed with the seating arrangement in the PMAC. It is horrible, the Maravich Maniac section is too small and is embarrassingly bad. The mid level seats above that section are rarely full. Students create the atmosphere in the PMAC - they are unable to do it from the upper level. LSU wants donations and loyal alumni - those donations and loyalty are only going to come from the people who graduate from LSU and make money - why treat them like bastard step children?

As I said, I'm pissed off about this for y'all. We had great seats at the Assembly Center when I was there - and had to camp out for them.
