Championship programs can step up one phase of the game when another phase isn't playing too well.

Which our special teams did. We were pinning Auburn deep the whole game. Unfortunately both the offense and deffense dropped the ball. However, I don't think anyone can honestly have expected that our offense would have done any better than that based on their track record. Sure, we have all had the want for the offense to turn it on and play up to par.
I really feel like the 3 and outs were killing our D. It was putting them on the field way too long, and they just got tired out by the end of the game.

Offense dropped the ball. Defense made more than emough plays to win that game. And STs played fantastic.

How many wins = mediocrity?

How many wins = strong program?

Is 10 wins an indication of a strong program?

We're headed in that direction.....

I'm pretty sure in the 2nd half LSU had the ball at, or around midfield 5 times.

3x they went 3 and out

1x LSU got a couple first downs then punted.

1x LSU got points. (halfback pass)

I agree. Defense struggled, but they did make some stops. (6/12 3rd down Auburn) LSU's offense didn't take advantage.

As a team, offense and defense, LSU simply got beat.

yes they kneeled on the three, after we were forced to go for it on our own half of the field...that's a wash because any other time of a game we would have punted and they wouldn't have been in scoring position like that

Bob Stoops would have punted to keep it close.

had it not been for our punter would have hung 50 on us.

that's part of the game dumbass

it was a tie game with 7:50 left to play and we had the ball and needed about 25 yards to get in FG range...can't ask for more than that...our offense sucks sucks

To those pointing at stats saying it should have been a blow out...

LSU put up 434 yards on Tennessee compared to their 217. And it took us a miracle to win that game.

Stats don't tell the whole story.

We held Auburn's high powered Offense to 24pts and we made more than enough stops in the game.

What seems amazing to me now is even though the yard totals became lopsided for Auburn by the middle of the 4th quarter, we still had the ball midfield in a tie game with chance to take the lead.

Special teams was fantastic entire game.

We missed a shitload of tackles in the first quarter, when we were rested. Also, holding anyone to 24 points is not enough when our offense struggles to score 14.

Oh I don't know about him but I'd say it's certainly not dumber(I actually like imbecilic better)than you not comprehending that the inept 2nd-half offensive display by the Tigers lent itself quite nicely to the LSU defense being whipped by the fourth quarter.

defense missing tackles has nothing to do with coaching. i think it has to do with a 260 pound QB who cuts like sheppard and fast RBs who outrun a tired defense in the 4th quarter. Chiz is just as dumb as miles. Other than offense our coaching out does Auburn hands down.

And how does Auburn look better coached without Cam?

I'm on board with this. If the offense could have sustained a few 2nd half drives and at least get us into FG range we could've won that fricking game even with the same defensive performance

If the offense could've scored on one of the 3 opportunities they had with great field position in the second half, we stand a very good chance of still being unbeaten at this point.

everybody knew auburn was gonna score points. It was a question of whether our offense could put up over 20 points really. the defense held auburn to 17 for a loooong time.

Nah.

I remember when we went up against them last year. That is not the same team from last year. We never had to account for Todd. So we had very little problems slowing down McCaleb, Tate, D. Adams, and Tate.

They certainly put up great stats against a lot of teams. Not so against us.

No, they wouldn't. LSU legitimately held them to 10 points in the first half. Auburn was never going to score 40 in the second half. Auburn's secnd half points all came on big plays. They didn't exactly string together sustained drives.

The problem was LSU couldn't match them for big plays, and they couldn't string together any sort of drives in the second half to keep Auburn's offense off the field.

Could the defense have played better...Yes. Was it entirely their fault for giving up 24 pts....No. Offense when 3 and out way to many times. If the defense doesn't stay on the field for most of the game, then AU doesn't get 24 points.

Yeah dumb frick, but if we don't have so many 3 and outs their offense wouldn't have even been on the fricking field

Lol, I agree 100%, offense left defense out on the feild and Newton is a beast, you cant just totally shut him down...

We had the ball with 8 mins left and tie game and went 3 and out... they get a 70 yard td run

We had the ball back with 3 mins left and chance to tie then we 3 and out.... then they grind out thirty more yards and run out the clock...

If we dont give them the ball back that offense from Auburn never happens... When we got the ball with 8 mins left we needed to go on a 60 yard drive, consume about 5 - 6 minutes off the clock and either go up by 3 or 7, leaving Auburn only a few minutes to tie...

Offense is inept, end of story
