Chavis is staying and looking forward to next season. Had to say something to keep this thread on the first page.

Hugo - Did my wife send you that short video of her? She's even prettier than that when she fixes her hair....

Let me tell all the CLM haters a short story:

In July, 2010, my 18 yr old daughter died in an accident while in Baton Rouge attending freshman orientation and my wife was injured substantially. 2 nights later, while at OLOTL RMC in Baton Rouge, there was a knock on the door. It was CLM, no entourage or anything. He spent an hour or so with us that night and that time he took with a couple of grieving parents from Alabama will never be forgotten. The man has a fantastic record at LSU, including a NC, and truly cares about the young men he's responsible for in the football probram. He's told his alma mater "thanks but no thanks" twice. He recruits very well. He just posted the best season with regards to W-L in LSU history. What other type of coach would you really want there? Charlie Weiss? (that fella couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag) Jim Tressel? (tatoogate 2 coming to a theatre near you) and I could go on and on.

My condolences..I'm sure that is a hard story to tell.

But what you seen by Coach Miles many here knew for a while now.

He a good man with a good heart.
He cares about people.

Some here would sell their souls to the devil just to win.

For others like me, I am just glad LSU has a great program with a decent coaching staff.

So what Bama beat us, doesn't make me feel less about this team

These boys played their hearts out all year.

I for one am very proud of them and believe they will play just as great this year.
The team and players don't deserve the hate the bandwagon fans put on them because of 1 loss.

In the end people are more important than final scores.

God bless you and your family and thanks for sharing.

Thanks, it remains a hard story to tell but when I continually see a man like that get crucified, it chaps my arse. I'm both an LSU and Bama supporter and have been going to the game when played in Baton Rouge since the early 80's primarily because of the short drive between the Mobile area to BR but also because the LSU folks are fine hosts. It's a great rivalry between 2 great traditions and it needs to stay that way!

Thanks for sharing that with us.

Having two daughters in their 20ies, I have a small sense of the pain you are feeling and I am so sorry for your loss.

May you heal some each day.

Thanx, Lonnie....it's a club no parent should be forced to join and it was so gracious of CLM to spend that time with us like he did, I mean it wasn't like my girl was going to be the starting left tackle or even associated with the football program. As the militarily folded LSU flag that was flown over campus the day of her funeral says on its case "Forever LSU"

Bump for Les Miles and staff.

The 2012 signing class is finishing strong.

Thank you, man.

Everyone who says Les is classless...I won't accept that.
They should read your story.

And I'm sorry for your loss.
