quote:Let me put this one in perspective for you. The amount of energy spent defending the piss poor bowl game between you, champagne, and few other choice people on this board over the past 2 days has been remarkable. I'm wondering where you found time to spend with your family on Jan 1st.
the douchebags who get all butthurt
Because all I've been reading is a bunch of open letters and knighting to the 10th power, while most LSU fans are pissed off and disgusted with the whole thing. It's like we're all standing here and you knights are running circles around us trying to convince the "truth".
And I put it in quotes because the "truth" is what's inside your head, and not necessarily what's real. But to any rational thinking person, it comes out looking like a bunch of silly nonsense. And it also comes out sounding like a 10 year old kid trying to make excuses on why his Pop Warner team lost the game instead of embracing the loss, being honest about the flaws, and moving forward/hopefully taking action to correct them.

You jackasses are whats wrong with the world today.
When you start something, like a football season, finish it strong. Dont do it because I say so or even if Les fricking Miles says so. Do it because you have pride in yourself as a man and because you value being the damn best at what you do.
If you think they did that by going to Atlanta with an I dont care about the game attitude then yes you are part of the problem.
Personally I think anyone that says the game didnt matter to the players or that they didn't take it seriously are completely full of shite.

What's wrong with the world today? I'll tell you what's wrong with it - an antiquated bowl system that is in it's death throws, after building a team like LSU has into the machine you all want it to be, and then fricking them to death with this "reward" of a game...
In a year where you lost to Florida and Alabama, back when the season actually meant reaching for a title, you think it's this complete travesty that LSU couldn't get all fired up for the Chick-Fil-A bowl? After Slive has stuck us in it for the millionth time?
Either way, the whole purpose of this thread was to make the point that LSU lost because they didn't care about the game. It's the culmination of a 10 win season in the hardest division of the hardest conference, barely losing to eventual Number 2 and Number 3, and being rewarded with this HORRIBLE bowl game with a HORRIBLE opponent.
It sounds to me like you dudes are getting mad because you know I'm right.

Just goes to show you that fans that live in the same city as the players will affect the mentality of the team. People think the bowl is bullshite and feel entitled, it subconciously affects the players. Spoiled little morons.

You're right that we fans were disappointed with the bowl and probably some players were too. But you're wrong that LSU lost bc the players didn't want to be there, implying they didn't prepare or play hard. LSU played hard. And they looked as prepared for Clemson as for any other opponent this year. Clemson simply is not a bad team, and LSU is not that great. Clemson certainly looked like they won the Super Bowl afterward, but lets not pretend LSU wasn't flying around, hitting hard, and giving effort. It demeans both teams to say that.

You sound like a puddin pop.

Any players that felt that way lack heart, character and aren't true competitors IMO.

Just another excuse for the apologists so they don't have to blame Miles or Stud for anything.

Champagne
You need to read a book or two written from the perspective of a college football player in a big time program.
Start with Meat on the Hoof.
It is big time business and fans all over America expect and pay for excellence. If you want to play college football and play for the pure joy of the game, try Division III.
I understand what you are saying but you obviously haven't seen the inside of a big time college program

Giantkiller you are in a dream world. If LSU is that weak in will, they are not a team to take seriously. Clemson is a better team.
