Yes, of course Mett has earned his stripes...the team knows he has a pair...but I think the staff realized too late a while back that some QBs just weren't SEC tough...now they are testing them out earlier so as not to waste their efforts...if one or two can't hack it, so be it...fine, say good-bye and take two QBs in next years class..voila!

I don't question Mett's toughness he proved he can take a hit last year.

Good. He has shown he can stand in a deliver while taking a hit. He has nothing to prove in my book.

Agreed. The Ole Miss game was brutal for Mett. Our oline was like swiss frickin chess but Mett stood in and diced them up anyways.

Any of you questioning whether Mett can take a hit go watch the Ole Miss game again.

As long a Mett is wearing the green jersey, I'm all for the other QBs getting popped

I have no problem letting QBs get hit in practice as long as the defense is disciplined enough not to take kill shots on them

Agree.

This never crossed my mind but I have no problem with a lil friendly contact. Now if they end up in the gauntlet, I think all male LSU fans will give natural birth to three babies a piece.

As long as there's no kill shots, there's really no issue.

I didn't mention any names because it wasn't necessary...some of you guys remind me of some of my Jr. High students who sat on the front row so that they were the first to be called on to answer every question...kind of childish, huh... why do some rantards have to stone and bury as many ex players as soon as you no longer need their services to feed you pitiful egos...that's a question that needs to be asked on this forum...

Back ups need to get popped in practice. Mett on the other hand needs no part of that.

they are just saying they don't want someone throwing the ball up for grabs like Lee did with anyone of 2 feet near him

Finally, the QBs are not insulated in spring practice from taking hits. This should help them develop toughness and a mental clock to getting the ball out of their hands quickly. I'm guessing this change was instituted by Cam Cameron. Mett is still in a green jersey

Its more for the guys that only get a few reps. So everyone but mett. Rivers said it nicely, that its easier to look good and be relaxed knowing your not going to get hit. This is just keeping the backups on their toes while mett is taking the majority of snaps this spring.

Young guy like Jennings needs to get used to the speed of college ball. It's a good thing for him and probably something Miles wouldn't have done.

That's exactly right. Miles might be on to something with this whole offensive coordinator deal.

Les Miles is clearly trying to sabotage Mett so Jennings can play early.

Les Miles is so mojo that he is going to get mett hurt so Jennings can play by letting Jennings get hit while Mett wears the green 'no contact' jersey.

That is some duck dynasty Si-ism logic right there jack

if they want Jennings to run some option then he needs to get use to getting hit by big time players. I dont mind this at all. if he gets hurt he gets redshirted. Mett will always be in green
