I love it. Mett proved his toughness last year. He stood strong and took some brutal hits but still stepped into his passes and delivered the ball. He's earned that green jersey.

For the backups, make them earn it. Find out if they can face a big league pass rush without flinching.

The offense should be really good. Mett. should be really good. It should not be a surprise. It should be what is expected this season.

Mett is a 4 star recruit.
Hill is a 4 star recruit.
Several on the oline are 4 star recruits.
WR's several are 4 star recruits.
Hillard 4 stars
Blue 3 stars

Lot's of talent and an NFL OC.

All that talent on offense and the defense just always seems to reload. LSU stacked sec fricked.

The risk of injury is apparently acceptable when you remember the fumble fest that occurred every time Mett got breathed on last season. Guy needs to learn how to move in the pocket and protect the ball. Insulating him from conditions that will help him improve those skills isn't a good idea.

I still remember the North Texas hit on Mett that put him out of the game for a little while. It took awhile for him to get back straight after that hit. Its good to have a little contact in the offseason/preseason gets you ready for when the real games are played and you are target #1.

Here we go again.

The legend of JennSwag in it's humble beginnings unfolding before our eyes. Dude hasn't even played in a game and he's the "Truth." Let's hope he really is the truth, so we don't have to suffer the consequenses of yet more wretched excess freshman quarterback hype from the Geek Squad.

Maybe we should all petition Les to give him an Allstate logo sticker to put on his helmet.

This...

That's why we have 4 pretty good QBs on the roster. Let 'em play!

I hope so. And I hope that Rettig is the truth, too. We haven't had two SEC caliber QBs since MF and RP in 2007. We needed both that year to win it all.

If he will just develop some pocket awareness and a mental clock, a small injury would be acceptable.

imagine the backlash...
Meh, backlash is a way of life for bigtime coaches, especially at LSU. Hell, there was a ton of backlash after he won the National Championship in '07.

Hopefully, backlash won't be a factor in any of our coaches' decisions.
