Explain how it’s different?

Both are making “business decisions” to better themselves.

Right. And just like you do with your job, you have every right to walk away and find a better opportunity just as they are doing.

This is what is going to kill college sports. People will eventually just quit watching! Maybe not in my lifetime but eventually it is gonna happen!

Yet, I'm not the one crying about what the players do with their money. That would be like me taking a job at a large corporation and then being mad a month later that they don't pay me enough.

The point is, if you were mad about it, you could leave for a better paying job. That’s what these players are doing.

Irrelevant.

You still offered a scholarship then took it away.

Yeah, I’m not a right wing idiot like Timothy McVeigh. But thanks for playing.

Calm down Friend. Nobody here wants to hurt you. You don't need to do anything crazy like the this McVeigh guy you brought up out nowhere. That's not the path to success. There are other ways to handle your frustration and pain.

You are valuable and important and you have people that care about you. Don't give up. We're here to help.

You quit and don't play, you've absolutely let your teammates down.

It might be somewhat justifiable, but it's still quitting and you still quit on your teammates.

Not if I have a job that has a one year contract. There would probably be some sort of penalty. These players sign one year contracts every year when they accept a scholarship. Yet there are no repercussions on them when they just quit.

Not even remotely close to the same. Besides, there are ways out of all of those contracts. They rarely hold up in court.

Correct. If signing the scholarship papers (i.e. contract) is "irrelevant", then why bother signing. Just do everything verbally.

The fact is, I AGREE. But I’m sick of seeing these threads calling out players but it’s acceptable when LSU does the same to a recruit. (Again, specifically talking more about players who “opted out” at the start of the season).

Jesus christ, not even close. Players do not have to sign, they can commit and decommit. Quitting when your teammates are counting on you is totally different.

So two contracts aren't remotely close to the same thing.

Have you seen the signing papers for a commit? It has nothing about the players not being able to leave or stop playing at any point.
