Top to bottom Bama has more talent. Especially on the lines and LB. LSU's secondary is better. LSU is better at RB this year (obviously). LSU'S QB situation is kind of sad considering the talent at WR.

You keep bringing up the last two years NFL draft as a primer to how talented we are THIS YEAR. Which is stupid.

We had 18 starters come back this year. Of course we didn't have a bunch of players drafted. Your argument is flawed and stupid. With 18 returning starters and top three round draft talent such as

Fournette
Dupre
Dural
Pocic
Beckwith
White
Adams
Godcheaux

And that's just the ones leaving this year. That's not counting the ones next year who aren't draft eligible.

With 18 returning starters we were definitely the most talented and experienced team in college football. Name me another team with as much talent and experience coming back. There are none.

There are 1500 recruits on average each year. Recruiting sites pick about 30 of those to be 5 star athletes. To pick 30 out of 1500 and be right 49% of the time is great. 5 star recruits matter.

Good argument and you bring up a very good point.

LSU can't be too far behind when it comes to talent. I'm just proud to know that many of our players stay and play for LSU and many go on to play in the NFL ranks.

ETA: im still waiting on you tell me how lsu players that went into the nfl from 2005-2013 somehow makes us the most talented team today.
By your logic miami is still talented as hell. They have lots of players on nfl rosters.

I'm still waiting on your reading comprehension skills to show. Obviously the joke is on me, because that doesn't look to be happening soon. At what point did I mention 2005-2013? If you can't understand that in very recent years that LSU has put more players in the NFL than everyone else I can't help you. Since 2012 LSU has been as talented as anyone. Bama's 14 and 15 draft classes were very good, LSU's I think were better in 12 and 13. I said before, from year to year there are some fluctuations, but on average, the talent level at LSU is at least on par with anyone you want to name.

Also it dumb as hell to use current nfl players to determine a current cfb program's talent.

At no point did I say current players. I said since 2012, at one point or another from then until the start of this season, former LSU players occupied more roster spots than any other school during that same time span. They might have only been on roster during preseason, or partial seasons, but more roster spots filled than anyone else, including bama. I know you failed reading comprehension, but come on. Get the bama slong out of your mouth. Its having serious negative effects on you.

This...and it isn't even close. Not to mention Louisiana, per capita, puts more players in the NFL than any other state.

These things aren't as important as you think they are. Hell, 3 of the last 4 heisman winners were first year starters, and two of those were redshirt freshmen. Alabama won the national title last year and came into the season ranked like 106 in the country in returning starters. It's a useless metric

Louisiana has been behind Alabama for couple of years now. Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Louisiana all have held the per capita title within the last decade.

Only people from Louisiana brag about this. Alabama has had the title for the last two years and it only gets mentioned when one of you guys state it incorrectly.

Alabama is way more talented currently. They have 6 players in the top 25 of Mel Kipers big board. That's after having a lot of players drafted the last two years.

Alabama had 6 players return to school that would have been drafted last year. Plus a whole new crop of draft eligible players for this year.

The stat you keep citing is evidence that the LSU 2011 roster was probably more talented than any other team's 2011 roster. You keep bringing it up in a discussion of the talent levels of 2016 rosters, even though it has no relevance whatsoever in this thread. If this were a discussion of the relative talent levels of 2011 teams, you would get a gold star for providing useful information.

But LSU has had every bit as much talent as bama since 2012, yet hasn't had similar results.

That's ridiculous. About 40 players on LSU's roster play about 90% of the snaps. About eight of them will go on to play in the NFL more than just a token appearance. Using the number of people in the NFL is not a good metric.

Every year LSU is woefully inadequate at a couple of position groups. This year our punter and kickers are awful. Next year our linebacking corp will be extremely thin. We've had recent seasons in which our DTs were mediocre. That never happens to Bama. Every year every position group is good as well as deep.

He isn't going crazy. LSU has great EXPERIENCED talent. Bama has a lot of young inexperienced talent. Bama isn't as good as they appear. USC is a dumpster fire, and ole miss lost to a not very good fla st team....and has a terrible defense. Flame away.

Shouldn't we know by now that it isn't talent alone that wins championships? The CLM era should be proof positive that coaching matters.
