North Texas is a bad offense. We dominated even playing a base D and playing off the receivers and letting them dink and dunk (that was the game plan btw according to Miles). It worked to perfection.

Auburn is a mediocre offense. We dominated save 2 big plays (one in particular). Take away the big play in the 4th quarter, and Auburn scores 7 offensive points on us at home. We did nothing wrong there other than letting the QB escape pressure and a receiver broke open late ... it happens. If anyone was to be blamed there, it was the DLine, and I don't think any of us are "worried" about the DLine.

Mississippi State is a bad offense. I'll give you the LSU D didn't look great against them. But we certainly Didn't look "bad" per se... on paper, defensive numbers are ok, we just gave up more points that we would have liked.

Our biggest weakness on D is the opponent getting RBs and WRs matched up against our linebackers. We don't have to worry about this against Florida, they can't do that just because they're so stubborn and stuck in their style of O. This will be a vulnerability against pro-style "normal" offenses like Georgia and Bama, but we've got smart coaches too, so let's let it play out before we start making proclamations about how good or bad the defense is. History shows us that LSU's defense will be just fine, as it always is.

With this defensive line, the few defensive vulnerabilites we do have will be masked most of the time, and that's the way it's supposed to work. Out of the teams in the Top10, the only team that might possibly have a better D than us is Oklahoma. That's Ok, though, they can have the better D ... we've got a better big game coach.

I hate to say it but that is a fact. That Bama team looks just like LSU did a few years ago. Right now our D looks second rate. Auburn held Miss ST to 02 pts and we gave up 24. NOT GOOD AT ALL.

Carroll is the worse QB I have ever seen play college football. Well maybe not as bad as the MSU qb he replaced, however you get the drift. You cannot compare their Auburn game to the LSU game. Differant offense with Lee at the helm.

The QB MSU played last night makes a world of difference in the team. He is a warrior. He is very elusive, which puts pressure on the defense and he also extends plays. MSU is a much better team offensively with him versus Carroll. That will be proven over their next few games. Had Carroll played we would have beat MSU like we always do 48 - 7 or so.

With Lee at the controls, MSU will prove to be a pretty good SEC team. They have an excellent defense. They have SEC quality RB's. They just need a servicable QB which Carroll was not. Lee seems to be.

Concerning whether LSU is #2 in the nation. The question is what two teams in the nation are clearly better than LSU? I don't see any.I guess Alabama is the new Florida. I have always wondered why some rantards feared Florida. I alway felt Florida should fear LSU.

Florida won the championship in 2006. But I felt LSU was a better team. What did they do the next year? Lose 4 games. Do you think LSU will lose 4 games this year? Miles is 2 and 1 against the great CUM. Miles has never lost to such an underdog as Ole Miss.

Unlike most I am not impressed with Alabama. I have felt all year Georgia was overrated. Clemson is Clemson. When was the last time they won a big game? If Alabama is now as good as some claim, then Nick Saban is truly the greatest coach of all time. In one year he turns a 6-6 team which lost to NLU into a championship calaber team? I think not. I believe they are a good, but not great team. Time and games will bore that out.

LSU just needs to take care of their business. Its all part of the "process". It is the fire that makes SEC ready for national championships. The MSU game will make LSU better prepared for the Florida game and so forth and so on. I really saw nothing against MSU that gives me much worry. I saw nothing that could not be easily corrected. I see a team that if they improve like they have each year the last few years, will be a team that will be very difficult to beat. In fact, I see a team that very well should be better than last year's team at QB, RB, WR and OL. As good on DL, LB and S. DB is the question, but athletically they could also be better with experience. Jai looks like a star in the making. ST will be better when every punt return is not an adventure with TH. Its good they put him back there against MSU. If he ever settles down it will be scary for other teams.

LSU is right where they need to be. They need to fear no team. Especially Alabama. No body has better althletes than LSU. And nobody develops their athletes better than LSU. A formula for domination. Every year chanpionship teams must have growing pains. The perfect laboratory for creating a championship monster is the SEC. MSU was just part of the process to burnish this team for championships.

Granted LSU is the absolute worst team in the country. But I just thank my lucky stars that LSU is undefeated. Leave the crap about who is best to the sportswriters and the forking AP. Bottom line is it doesn't matter if we are the best team. Totally not relevant. I just want to keep on being the worst team to ever play ball and just keep on winning. If we go undefeated we win another crystal ball even though we totally suck and should be playing beyond high school.

All that is relevant right now is Florida and what we need to do and not do to beat them.

Guess what USC was ranked #1 last week. Guess what they don't win the NC because of that either. What do they get nada! Just keep on beating the next team.

who's better...who knows..
too much football to be played....
here is an observation..

Is in the formula.....

the media had picked Oh St, they lost to USC,
therefore, USC must be an incredible team.

the media had picked GA, they lost to Alabama, therefore, Alabama must be an incredible team.
...they defeated Clemson...news media pick for ACC champ...therefore...

...could it be that the idiots do not know how to evaluate a team and overrated Oh St and GA,...
...of course not.

IT'S OFFICIAL>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The lips have moved from Pete Carroll's arse to Pete Saban's (OOPS I meant Nick Saban) arse...

a note:
Alabama played one great half...but was outplayed by Georgia in the second half.

There is no longer one dominant team in the country. That which seperates the masses is narrowing quickly. We might not play well all the time but as long as we continue to win there really isnt anything to complain about. Just do enough to win. That seems to be tough enough these days.

Did this guy ever provide one shred of objective evidence to show that LSU is overrated. Or is he still just skirting that with subjective banter?

You are a moron!!!!!!!!!!! You don't have enough football knowledge to be opening your mouth!!!!!!!! They say it is best to keep your mouth shut and let people assume you are stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt!!!!!! We played a basic/base defense last night. Had 2-3 starters nicked up and not playing. There was no need to do anything special last night than to do enough to win the game, which we did. Didn't need to show Fla. or any other strong team we have yet to face, anything new. Granted, we didn't play our best game. And Miss. St. played error free ball. Thus, 34-24. Not the most impreessive, but doing what it takes at that given time to win the game. Now, get some sort of clue before you post such a moranic statement agian.

I don't know how you can consider Bama a better team!! Tulane shut down their offense right? Well probably because they didn't open up the playbook and reveal sets to UGA. LSU's defense was subpar against MSU right? Well the tigers probably didn't bring as much pressure and played more conservative without revealing specific pressure blitz packages! Its an early season game that is effected by health, matchups and the alignment of the planets.

I personally believe that LSU matches up VERY favorable with Bama, but less favorable with UGA and UF!

Mount Cody will be neutralized by a man that outweighs him in Herman Johnson, and this will expose Bama's run defense with CS getting to the second level and pounding Bama's LBs and secondary!!!

Last night was plenty evidence.

LSU beat MSU by 2 more points than Louisiana Tech. MSU had it's largest scoring outburst outside of their game against Southeastern.

It's not rocket science. Shitty offenses have looked capable against LSU the last 2 weeks.

#19 in total defense is pretty questionable. Great observation.

Ok Tiger Fans this was a statement I made last night before hearing the same by the announcer on ESPN the secondary can't cover I understand that the D line lost 2 key players so as for the run I'll leave that alone. Saban will tap that arse if they don't tighten up!
