ONE GAME?

Have you watched this season?

The talent level is well below the norm for LSU and I'm talking every phase.

This is about what I expected to happen in the post season but not to this degree.

I will admit it also really bothers me that they didn't chase the pedophile off the mound in the first 2 innings!

Yup...I’m fairly certain this isn’t their first and only bad loss of the year.

What exactly did you expect from this game? I didn’t expect a blowout but this is a tough regional to win.

I expected them to lose but not get blown out of the park.

Injuries decimated our pitching staff but IMO they weren't the reason for the lack of hitting. Smith would help but it's not like he's the second coming of Todd Walker. This roster is severely lacking in star power.

Yeah, one game.

Luckily, it's a double elimination tournament.

Smoke won the west twice, came in 2nd twice, and went to two CWS. Not taking up for him but you act as thought he was 0-for his entire time at LSU.

It's baseball anything can happen, but if you think LSU is in the same league as OSU or any other top seed your fooling yourself.

This team is just NOT very good and far from great.

I didn't think LSU could best OSU last year.

Not one time.

But LSU beat them twice in a row, on my 40th Birthday weekend when I was in Brooklyn NY killing celebratory drinks, a surprise Louisiana party in Manhattan and a killer skateboard session under the Manhattan Bridge so far way from home.

Stranger things have happened.

The lineup has to change drastically next year or the results will be the same. There's simply not enough talent.

And that falls on PM. I am not hating on him, but he is the head coach and they currently don't have talent and chemistry. LSU shouldn't have a down year like this. This is his responsibility.

Because PM told Josh Smith (and Broussard for that matter) to get injured...

The bottom of the order sucks, no doubt. Personally, if I were coach, I'd give the pitchers a chance before allowing Hughes and Broussard to be a perpetual black hole in the lineup, but I'm not and Paul is, and all I can do is support the team he fields.

Last time I checked none of our players molested a little girl 4-6 years of age. No shame in losing a baseball game in a double-elimination tournament.

OSU are the ones that should be embarrassed for allowing that pervert on their team, playing alongside him, defending him and cheering for him. I'll accept a loss any day over winning with a child molester and convicted sex offender on the mound.

That’s bullshite. LSU is no younger than anyone else. I also see “young” players playing major roles on their teams including one at LSU.

The young excuse is crap.

you are over reacting man. once Hess struggled, exactly what was PM to do? it doesn't matter if we lose 2-1 or 50-1; a loss is a loss. PM pitched Gilbert and Ventmier and let the chips fall as it was obvious our offense wasn't going to bail us out.

I don't think many fans really realize our SP situation. EVERY starter from last year graduated (drafted, etc) and EVERY proposed starter for this year is injured. the only proposed starter not hurt during the season was Hilliard. we lost Stortz, Labas and now Hilliard. We are starting Hess, Bush and Sanders, ALL RELEIVERS. and every time you start a RP, you lose them from the pen.

we are trapped right now. I say we pitch our best this afternoon, get our second win and let the chips fall against OSU tonight. consider what happen if we win tonight; we may end up starting Moffit Monday.

I have never seen a team lose so many starting pitchers the year after all of them leave. incredibly bad luck.

Smoke did the recruiting and majority of coaching during practice for Skip and he was not a good coach.

Agree...many teams trotted out a number of freshmen this year and they seemed to have superior success to us. Hess hasn't developed to the consistent pitcher we hoped for, Caleb Gilbert is at best a 2 inning reliever, Hal Hughes can field but is a liability at bat, etc.

Pitching is depleted. The loss of Hilliard hurt bad. This team has struggled all season with a depleted roster. Coach Mainieri was constantly shuffling folks around. Got so bad they had to put in a DH in Peterson. He went on to create LSU lore. [They won the game] Hey it is what it is. I love this LSU Baseball team and coach. LSU forever!

NEVER, I say NEVER give up on my Tigahs!
