No. I'll be somewhat surprised if they host a regional.

Yep and since when does scoring 20 run qualify you for a World Series bid?

It's way too early to decide if lsu is a cws team or not. Let's see how the conference schedule plays out and then make a decision.

Nope.

Lange and Poche cannot do it all, and LSU doesn't have much of a bullpen after them.

For example If Lange/Poche has a bad game and gets yanked(TCU for example), then this team is in trouble.

It's early, but middle relievers need to step up.

Also, the bats going cold against teams like UNO and Mcneese is a little concerning.

Bats going cold in individual games is not concerning

If Lange figures it out, maybe. Otherwise no.

If like to see CPM pull Lange early on night he clearly doesn't have it, then maybe use him for an inning as a reliever on Sundays or midweek games until he gets it figures out.

Letting him get shelled for 8+ runs two out of three starts isn't doing anything for his confidence.

I'd also like to see Romero get more ABs to see if he can return to last year's form. This team desperately needs another bat in the lineup that can produce extra-base hits.

I don't. Lange was weird last year. He was dreadful in the first inning almost every game, then would settle down and find a groove. He started to Friday as well. He gave up 4 in the first, then 1 over the next 3, then lost it in the 5th. TCU was bad all around but Lange struggling early has been par for the course the last 2 seasons

Lange got pulled in the 2nd against TCU and our "shitty" bullpen allowed 3 runs over the rest of the game so they did their job, LSU couldn't score after the first.

There is no question this team can make a run to Omaha. When Lange regains his form LSU will have three solid starters going into postseason play. That will carry them a long way.

I think they will continue to have problems with midweek games, unless they develop a fourth starter, and that may cost them a national seeding but LSU could be one of those teams, and we've seen them in recent years, whose postseason far exceeds their regular season.

We haven't lost those mid-week games because of pitching except for the bullpen at first UNO game the pitching has been fine. We lost the rest because our hitters can't hit weekday southland pitching

If they get there, which is extremely unlikely, they will just be one-and-done.

True....but those mid week losses though? If we continue that trend.....the committee won't look favorably on us when assigning regional sites.

We win/sweep the series with florida this weekend....then you could make a case for a CWS contender.

Skip Bertman has said publicly he believes this team can make it to Omaha.

Lest you forget, the game passed Skip by in 1999, remember?

What would he know about baseball?
