I don't understand not mentioning the name of the band for contractual reasons. If it was better than ezra and they wanted to sell spots, wouldn't they announce better than ezra? What party do you know of that keeps their bands a mystery?

All that means is that they don't officially have a band yet. They may be close to negotiating with some, but if they knew what band, they would announce the band.

Might have become official overnight/this morning?? I don't know, but the website he posted clearly says entertainment provided by the BTE Foundation, so I'd think that's a pretty good indicator.

LSU Houston Alumni chapter tailgate
I have tickets for the tailgate and will be there with a group. My question is about parking. Do I still need a parking pass, or is there a designated parking area for the tailgate?

You will need to purchase a parking pass. There is no designated parking area for the tailgate.

The LSU Houston Alumni party is in the convention center next to the Wisconsin party?

The BAND is locked in. Negotiations are done. The info is out there.

The LSU Houston Tailgate is located in Hall E of the NRG Center located across the street from the stadium!

So is BTE playing or not? Why the vague "BTE foundation" on the website? Sounds super shady.

It wasn't this morning when someone posted about not being able to comment for contractual reasons.

I am not sure if it means anything, but BTE is scheduled to perform at the Houston House of Blues Friday night.

Not really. My guess is BTE is doing this concert pro-bono so the AA can support more scholarships from the money raised. Since they aren't getting paid, they are doing it through their Foundation as a write off and would not have to pay their promoter/label anything. Thus, the marketing of this has to be done in this manner.

This has ALOT to do with the contract.

I can only imagine what people on Tiger Droppings would say if LSU Houston threw a tailgate and hired a cover band......

The $50 includes a meal ticket which pays for all the overhead the chapter is incurring with food, alcohol, decorations, entertainment, etc.

Alcohol is included? I believe you are incorrect per their website.

Thing is this event is being held on the Reliant property in the Relient Center and has to abide by all the rules a regulations set forth. They have to go through Aramark for the food and beverage. This handcuffs the Alumni Association into what they can or cannot do. Reliant will not allow them to just do whatever they want. LSU Alumni Houston is in no way profiting from this event. They do great things for the alumni of Houston. In the past in Dallas, their Alumni tailgate was at a private establishment with less restrictions.

BTW i'm not even a member of the Houston Alumni Association.

Big venues (like House of Blues)often put non-compete and/or geographic restrictions in contracts to protect their investment.
