So that finishes off the main coaching staff. Coach J doesn't strike me as the type to bring assistants with him to a new school just because they're old friends, so for Wanaka to have been with him since Nevada, he must be doing something right.

ETA: I see they also coached together at Point Loma for a year, that's probably how it started.

Pretty cool that it looks like there’s a lazy river at their stadium.

That is the AA park right down the road from me where the Frisco Roughriders play.

Wonder why it was just announced. It was a done deal once Coach Johnson signed the paper to come to LSU.

Easy to say that in hindsight, but when Coach J started, he had to bring in an entirely new staff. Maybe Wanaka wouldn't have been the best fit if we had to hire someone other than Kelly or Fitz.

Will paying him for youth summer camps allow him to pay his bills? How much money are we talking about. Will this pay be stretched out for 12 months? Can someone come up with some figures. I dont get this volunteer deal.

I don’t know all the details. But this volunteer structure has been in place for a while and has worked relatively well. Obviously, having it as an official assistant position would be better, but that vote failed a few years back. I do believe it can be reintroduced soon, maybe 2022? I’m not exactly sure.

They make 6 figures. It’s a damn good gig.
