LSU Highest Regular Season TV Ratings by Major Sport

With tonight being a televised matchup of #1 versus #2 in college baseball, I thought it would be interesting to look at the top rated tv matchups of LSU in the regular season in recent history.
Football:
Game: LSU versus Bama 2014
Rating: 5.3
This isn't surprising. College Football is close to the NBA for the second most popular sport nationally. LSU versus Bama is a major rivalry and draws national attention.
Basketball:
Game: LSU versus Kentucky 2015
Rating: 2.4
Impressive rating for an unranked LSU team. Kentucky was #1 and undefeated, but this is still a really nice rating for a sport that has much less important regular season than football.
Baseball:
Game: LSU versus A&M 2013
Rating: 0.4
I was unable to find any ratings on LSU baseball in 2014, but this was the highest rated regular season LSU baseball game in 2013. It was broadcast on ESPN, so it had potential for a wide audience.
Just seems kinda crazy that locally LSU baseball is more popular than LSU basketball, but nationally in our highest rated games of the season, LSU basketball gets 6 times the rating of LSU baseball.
What ratings garnered by this #1 versus #2 baseball matchup be considered a success? 0.6?

Don't necessarily agree with this. Also think a lot of out of towner LSU fans would watch a basketball game before a baseball game.
While baseball sells more tickets, for many SEC games, basketball has more fans in seats. I think there are a large number of outspoken baseball fans, but I don't think baseball fans outnumber basketball fans.
Even still, many people would watch a random college basketball game before a random college baseball game and a lot of viewers come from that.

Im fairly certain the local tv ratings for LSU Basketball would be higher than LSU Baseball also.

NFL crushes NBA in national popularity.
The NBA is not the most popular sport in the country.
But I do think college football can beat the NBA, or has already, for second place.

Not very good at reading comprehension?
I stated that college football is close to the NBA for second most popular sport, not that the NBA is the most popular sport. The NFL is obviously the most popular. College Football and the NBA are fighting for second.

whoops
I think college football is already there at second.
I think college football is already there at second.

Not crazy at all. Due to the great success of the baseball program, LSU fans forget that they are very much the exception not the rule in terms college baseball's popularity. I know it's a tough pill to swallow, but VERY few people give a damn about college baseball on a national level.
That doesn't mean LSU fans shouldn't love and support college baseball. Just don't get offended when the rest of the country doesn't find success in college baseball all that noteworthy

That could be true. I guess it just feels like baseball fans outnumber basketball fans, because the baseball fans tend to bash basketball while the basketball fans are more respectful of baseball.

Seriously? Lift your head out of the weeds and notice that college baseball isn't too relevant on a national level. I love college ball, but it's just how it is.

More proof that
college football > basketball >>>>>baseball in popularity.
college football > basketball >>>>>baseball in popularity.

I love both. For some reason a lot of baseball fans feel like it's them against the world. Love me some LSU Baseball.

I think the majority of the people know this. Not exactly groundbreaking stuff – I know that may be a tough pill to swallow.
