which is typically not great here due to the sheer lack of people
—“lack of people” doesn’t make sense bc LA produces lots of football and baseball prospects.

We produce a lot of good golfers too but those are all 4 different things.

Do I really need to explain to you why that our lack of highly populated urban areas is a contributing factor as to why it’s harder to find good basketball players than baseball players?

It’s not even an opinion I can think of about 5 nba players from Louisiana in the past 10 years or so.

Traditionally our war players are from out of state as well. Like all of them outside sod Bob Petit

Robert Williams from North Cado, Mitchell Robinson are both getting minutes in the Eastern Conference of the NBA.

Louisiana is damn good for baseball recruiting. It’s not what Cali, Florida, Texas, or Georgia produce but it’s damn good

Getting better. Prior to Bertman, was darn near dead last. Excluding ND, SD, MT, and WY of course.

Not a basketball state. Not a basketball school.

have always wondered why Louisiana doesn’t produce more basketball talent than it does. It’s a gold mine for baseball and football talent but just doesn’t seem to have the blue chip kids in basketball.

A lot of it is coaching and culture. While there are a few schools with great coaching in basketball, top to bottom the state is garbage in that department. Too much letting athletic guys run and gun and not enough fundamentals. And even in that department, most of the state is programmed to football so basketball doesn't get the attention from a young age as much as somewhere like North Carolina. For the record I played high school ball in both states. Just my opinion

Louisiana does NOT produce enough top athletes for MBB or WBB or Baseball or softball or even football. PER CAPITA we produce quality football players but we need large numbers of good players and LA does NOT produce that amount. That's why our fball teams are full of Texans and kids from all over.
