What if we beat Bama then lose to Ole Miss. Ole Miss would win the west with 2 losses (only one conference loss). If they go on to actually win the SEC, I could see a 1 loss LSU getting into the playoff over a 2 loss SEC Champ.

If this scenario played out, possibly. But we would have the canceled game and one less game ( the championship) which would prevent us from matching resumes with team that have 2 more wins or league titles.

Maybe, maybe not, way to early for these threads. At least wait till everyone has 3 or 4 games left, and we still will not know.

yes because bama wont drop another game. LSU has to beat bama in order to win the west, then win the SECG over a 1 loss east team. because if it comes down to 2 1 loss SEC teams, they'll pick the SEC champion.

The sad fact is Bama lost early which is always better than losing late, which is exactly why the hacks at the league office make the back end of their schedule soft

LSU could lose to Bama

after last year's showing by the SEC, yes.

Everyone loves Urbs and his chest pains, so if OSU manages to stay undefeated they're in.
Utah undefeated, they're in.
Clemson undefeated, they're in.
Winner of Baylor / TCU, undefeated, they're in.

1-loss SEC Champ, out.

Even if OSU wins Big10 with one loss, I think the committee will take them over 1-loss SEC champ because of last bowl season. Just backlash after the SEC was so dominant and how bad the SEC looked in bowl season.

1-loss LSU or Bama is better than OSU, regardless of record, but I just don't feel the committee will go that way.

If something happens and UF wins the SEC with one loss, same deal. Committee won't consider the SEC strong enough. Ole Miss and Auburn have really hurt the conference this year, badly. For them to start so high and collapse as they have, everyone in the nation sees it, especially Ole Miss losing to Memphis.

If multiple teams win conferences with one or more losses, all this changes. But look at the schedules. Not much hope, except with OSU, who I think will lose twice but that opens the door to an undefeated Mich St.

The SEC champ is in the playoff, period.

Even a two loss sec team ? i think a two loss sec champ should go but I also think that would give them a excuse to leave the sec out .....

Of course it would depend on other teams résumés ,

The playoffs need to expand ......

Ole Miss already has two losses. They won't go no matter what. The same would be the case for any SEC team that has two losses unless every other conference's best team has one loss.

Just like every other year since Saban's been at Bama. It always comes down to the Bama/LSU game to make or break LSU's season, and the last 4 seasons it has broken them.

DUDE... get over the CANCELLED GAME. It was vs. McfrickingNeese. It is IRRELEVANT in this topic. There is no "computer element" to making the playoffs. It is only relevant to our studs padding their stats.

I think there is definitely a scenario where LSU could lose to bama and bama run the table and LSU still make the playoff. Would need florida to stay perfect probably, and teams like Auburn, Western Kentucky, and Mississippi State to finish strong...and of course the loss to bama would need to be very close. This is assuming that there are only two other teams undefeated of course. It will be tough though if big names are conference champs with one loss....regardless of our resume. If the roles were reversed, and Alabama had one loss....you can bet your sweet arse they would be pumping they gumps over even some undefeated teams. That's the benefit of having the national media constantly slobbing on your dick saying you are the best team in the country even when you shite the bed against teams like Ole Miss, Arkansas, Wisconsin...etc. I remember in 2010 you had talking heads pumping a 3 loss Alabama team as the best in the country.

If LSU lost at Bama by a field goal and other undefeated teams lost at the right time, I'd say no. Which could absolutely happen.

TCU and Baylor play each other and both teams will be in run up the score mode, meaning lop sided score. I could see Michigan beating OSU.
