I think they can make it, but will not win it unless another pitcher emerges. Need that third pitcher.
Who do you think has 3 starting pitchers of that caliber? LSU is 2nd in SEC play in ERA, but middle of the pack in runs scored. I don’t know why so many people are fixated on pitching as the issue. Only once did LSU score more than 4 runs in a conference loss and they have scored 3 or less in 5 of the 10 losses.

Only 4 teams have score more than 8 runs in the championship game since 2003. Only two of those have scored 10 or more (both where LSU teams).
In 2023, LSU needed Skenes, Hurd, and Floyd to make it through, and got a heroic performance from Hurd in the final.
Most CWS games are lower scoring (in general) and you are going to need a Riley Cooper, Gavin Guidry, or a Nate Ackenhousen to make it through.
I’ll take 3 “aces” over bats any day in baseball.

I’m not necessarily disagreeing with that formula, only disagreeing with the implied notion that LSU is less equipped in that regard relative to other contenders.

There are probably 6 or 7 that realistically could win it, and another few more could if they catch lightning.
This. I wouldn't touch cws betting this year with a ten foot pole.
It'll be a fight just to make it there if we find Tenn or UF in the super. Our bats are just too streaky to depend on them getting us through the supers and cws without them falling off more than once.

No team in the country has a 3rd pitcher.

LSU would be who I would pick right now, without seeing regional draws or super regional pairings. They're the most trustworthy team left and JJ is a great coach.
With that said, there are so many different SEC teams I could see making a run to the title game. UGA, Texas, Florida, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Auburn, and even Tennessee I could all see getting hot at the right time and making a title-game push.
Will be fascinating to see what happens!
