Talk to me in November and we can have this discussion. Right now it is a pointless discussion because haven’t seen this team
Play yet.

well this sums up some of you LSU Tiger fans that post on this site
anyone posting hope for the season is a Pump Lump
why do you guys come to a LSU site that most fans are looking forward to one more season being a LSU football fan?

Clemson might have 4 first round picks on their defensive line
Not sure the caliber of the linebackers however

This thread is about the Dline not Oline

Until I see it on the field and the product is better than Clemson,Alabama, or a few other top 10 teams then I'll continue to think they are not...

I disagree our OL will be a weak link.
The "defensive front seven" that the OP is referring to is the defensive linemen plus linebackers. It has nothing to do with any offensive positions.

Charles, Ingram, Magee and Brumfield all had plenty of PT last year and performed well.
Clapp leaving was a downer since he would have completed a starting OL with the above group. Someone has to step up at C now: Cush. Deculus is added depth at T (if he doesn’t start) and we need Traore, Savage, and Campbell to provide adequate depth everywhere else.
I put faith in Cregg coaching the guys up since he’s done it at every stop in his NFL career,
I wouldn’t put much stock in the spring game since our OL was split along both teams and our DL is T5 this year with 7-8 guys deep.

believe they will slide brumfield to center and put Lewis in his spot. I would really like that lineup

I doubt that anyone on this board wants you to lump them in with you when you say "we" considering that you're as dumb as a bag of shite.

LSU has a good one, but Clemson's is proven... LSU needs to prove it belongs in the discussion

Thanks for providing
The reality is this:
Lawrence (Potential AA)/Glen Logan (???)
Alexander (Stud when healthy and in shape)/Tyler Shelvin (Heard good things, but will he be in shape?)
Fehoko(All reports are that he is just as good as Lawrence, but we haven't seen him play a snap)/Neil Farrell (Okay)
Chaisson (Average last year, but looked incredible in the spring game. Could he have a breakout year?)/Travez Moore (???)
White (No Doubt AA)/ Patrick Queen (Solid backup)
Phillips (Solid LB)/Tyler Taylor (Solid LB)/Micah Bakersville (???)
Divinity (Never shown anything great) or Thornton (Never shown anything great) or Anthony (Never shown anything great)
The reality is that we have about 4 studs that will start, and then a lot of question marks... Now I tend to think those question marks are also studs, and by the end of the year we will be considered a top 3 front 7. But the point still remains that we aren't as proven as we think we are.
The BIG questions are:
Will any of the backup DLs contribute? We need that depth behind our starters so they won't wear down in the second half of games.
Which of the sophomore LB(s) will step up? They all have showed flashes, and they all have some experience now. Devin White can't do it alone, we need 1 or 2 of those guys to be potentially great players.
Where does the pass rush come from? I feel like we have a lot of guys that are built to get after the QB. However, none of those have actually given us a solid pass rush in a meaningful game before. Chaisson, Moore, Anthony, Thornton, will any of them be dominant pass rushers?
