Dabo was not a coordinator, far as I know . Name another head coach ( a successful head coach) -- other than Dabo, who went from position coach to head coach. Go ahead. It is the exception. Could work in the case if Orgeron and I hope it does. But it is a risky model and again, other than Dabo, I'm not aware of it ever working, if you have one or more examples, I'm all ears.

Your post said Saban wasn't a coordinator before becoming a HC. And you still haven't answered my question, bc you can't. frick off.

Absolutely mind blowing mismanagement.
Wasting 13 million is beyond my comprehension.

That's not what my post said dumbass. You are to stupid to see what it said. I also names Dabo . Don't leave out details to try and make you look like you were right. I never said Saban wasn't a coordinator. Again, you were wrong and can't let it go. You are a moron who lives in TD spewing stupid shite. You have no clue.

Wtf? You’d rather spend $13 Million in dead money than a fraction of that on academics? Surely you can’t be this ignorant.

Was Urban Meyer a coordinator before becoming a headcoach?

It's an organization run to perfection. It's like a well oiled machine.

Urban Meyer. That's another one. Am I done proving you wrong? Can you admit you are full of shite and don't know anything? (Thanks Hasan)

I read the other thread and as intelligent (i.e., not you) posters pointed out, the coaches that jumped from position coach to head coach were young and, at small schools. LSU ain't small and shouldn't be hiring a career d-line coach.

All that said, he's the coach and until this Canada debacle I was willing to give him a chance. And if he picks a promising OC I'll be happy and shut up. But if he continues hiring from the old fart circuit (as sadly, I expect him to) his days are numbered -- gumbo-cooking skills notwithstanding.

Plus, I might add, dated references. Kirk Ferentz? Back then, coaches weren't getting paid multi-million dollar salaries.

Your Dabo example is valid, but is the vast exception, today, at a P5 school.
