With the extra revenue we will hire a grad student that specializes in turf to follow Les around with a tray of grass specifically designed for him to munch on during crucial scenarios. It really is the only way to go.

This was also confirmed by Ronnie Haliburton about a year ago.

Yeah, he knows. A real turf expert there.

I posted this in the other thread:

AFAIK, this is the last public statement issued by the Athletic Department on the subject:

quote:

Published: Apr 23, 2008

As for the replay screen on the south scoreboard, Vincent said plans are on hold as LSU contemplates possible expansion options. LSU is considering adding club seats, suites or an upper deck, or a combination of those elements. Since the east upper deck and its 70 skyboxes were added to Tiger Stadium in 2000, none of their owners have allowed their leases to expire. There has been little turnover since LSU added 3,255 club seats in the rebuilt west upper deck in 2005, Vincent said. The 92,400-seat stadium could be added onto in the next several years, but Vincent could not be more specific. “A lot will depend on the decision of our new athletic director,” Vincent said, referring to athletic director designee Joe Alleva.

Tiger Stadium scoreboards to get facelift

I also posted this before:

Since the stated goal is "more suites than seats", it might wind up looking more this...

..and end up being largely new endzone suites.

BTW that is the proposed renovations to UNC's Kenan Memorial Stadium

why? when they cant fill a stadium for 4 qtrs except 1-2 games a year at most.

Free tickets were to be had all over last year for most games.

Way to take me out of context. After all the information and pictures I provide, that's where you decide to stop reading.

You rock.

Not true. There are stadiums that are bigger with real grass.

Excellent, after construction is complete, an additional 10,000 people can leave towards the middle of the third quarter!

Nothing is better than 80,000 empty seats in the fourth.

A complete waste. Clean everything up on the existing structure first.

Agreed, I have no problem with expanding, but lets upgrade / clean up / modernize the lower bowl first.

If they cant raise enough money to replace the windows and replace that awful chain link fence outside how are they going to afford a new expansion?

eliminating some lazy arse professors and depts.

They are also in discussions with Ohio State and Jim Tressel about how they can maximize profits from selling merchandise.

I don't understand why so many of you are against turf.

It's just grass people. It's not like they are going with purple turf.
