Despite poor offensive production, we were still better (as far as record) than all other schools in the strongest conference except Florida and Bama who are going to lose a lot of talent and/or coaches next year. Looks like Les is already making changes to the offensive coaching staff and I like where we are headed on defense as well. I think the future looks bright!

What say ye negatigers and optomistic fans?

Well, ok. We were third in the SEC. Honestly, most people would say you're spoiled for being upset with that. But I don't think so.

We have the talent to be better. We lost to OM which we should have won. Almost lost to Arky. Lost to UF, which I think a better coach would have won. Almost lost to UGA.

All these things piled up don't bode well with me.

You shouldn't be looking at the final result; you've got to look at the entire season. It wasn't as good as the third place trophy looks. In fact, it was much worse. Honestly, with the way we performed, that season could have easily been another 5 loss one.

We're losing a lot going into next year as well

Offense Definites
Scott
Williams
Holliday
Lafell
Mitchell
Dickson
Black
Hitt

Defense Difinites
Alem
Alexander
Woods
Coleman
Cutrera
Riley
Hawkins
McCray

I still think we'll be in good shape to contend next year, but there is a lot to be replaced.

We have obviously underachieved this year, and most blame can be thrown towards inept offensive preparation and game management. I'm looking more towards a good showing and beating Penn state and were we stand going into next year. I say we will beat flarida and bama next year with adjustments being made, mature quarterback and better schemes. This year I had written off beating the top two teams and was surprised we played them as close as we did based on where we stood last year at this time.

Those are great players definitly but few are rated as high has the talent bama and florida expressed this year. Look at the ALL SEC team. How many did we have? Bama? Florida? The caliber of players leaving those programs could arguably be higher than those leaving LSU this year. I personally don't feel this but I see things through purple and gold glasses

It's true this could have been a 5 loss season, it was also just as close to being an 11 win season. People need to learn the difference between being happy and satisfied.

Am I happy with a 9-3 season that could end 10-3 with a top 10 finish, yes.

Am I satisfied with the way the team was prepared and played in some games, and how some situations were handled, no.

That doesn't really matter. What matters is the fact that they had large roles at LSU and they will have to be replaced. Florida has the replace Carlos Dunlap and we have to replace Rahim Alem. Just because Dunlap is a better player doesn't mean Florida is in a worse situation than us.

Well said.

People who are these supposed positigers are only looking at the "third place" in the SEC or top ten result. But, if we weren't LSU, we wouldn't be top ten. Period.

It was a frustrating season with VERY inept coaching to say the least

Yes, he's made some very good coaching hires over the last few weeks, but that doesn't make me forget about the season. And yall shouldn't forget either.

THe past 2 seasons will live in infamy for sure. I just have to think that we'll be in better shape next year. Best thing being that we'll have maturity at the helm of the offense and hopefully some offensive lineman who are hungary backups this year will step up and be better than some of the guys who appeared to be slacking this year at times (im not going to name any first team all sec offensive lineman who regressed this year).

Running backs look as good as this years crew which often times couldn't find a hole even if they took a crap. Holes were there if the cut back was made also.

Quarterback should improve.

Recievers - losing Lafell will hurt and if tolliver goes pro could hurt but we have exceptional talent and depth here (Randle will be awesome!).

Tight end will hurt losing the best tight end in LSU history (at least stat wise)

Offensive line can't be any worse so should get better as well.

Could break down defense but will do so in another post.

I don't care if we returned all 85 members of the roster and they both lost all 85, I guarantee you Les Miles will never beat Florida or Alabama again in his career at LSU. Never.

I disagree. We were a hell of a lot closer to losing to Mississippi State, Georgia and Arkansas than we were to beating either Florida or Alabama. We came MUCH closer to going 6-6 than we did to 11-1, despite the actual record being closer to the latter.

A win is a win. To bitch about "almost losing" is pathetic.

Nuts4LSU, can we hold you to that statement about Miles never beating Florida or Bama again ever? And/Or how dissapointed will you be if that "happens" to not come true?

Seriously dude I know you hate him and I know this season leaves a bad taste in everybodies mouth but how bad does it suck to be an LSU fan and have that crappy an atitude towards a coach and the future of a program?

Bottom line:
Next year looks more positive than this past year. Most figured we'd lose to bama and florida plus one more. We did exactly that. Next year we expect 11 wins minimum. I believe we will achieve that. Senior quarterback the following year and continued top 10 recruiting classes and

We'll have to re-hash this when we play bama and UF next year I say we beat at least one if not both of them. Somebody's gonna eat crow...

Heres my negatiger post
Lsu really should be 6-6 except they were able to pull 3 wins out of their asses at Mississippi State, Uga, and Arkansas.
