Rasshan Thornton was my pick for breakout player of the year. He has honey badger instincts.

YES, this is a big departure from past depth charts. I noticed this right away also.

Instead, it appears he favored not naming starters at 6 positions.

Not sure what you're saying here... To clarify, which 6 do you believe are not named starters???

no one is bolded at LT

Ah... I think that may be your misunderstanding. I'm assuming bold means "Returning Starter".

That's what threw me off, he is listed as Ray Thorton

Only if you retcon Toby Weathersby as returning as the starter at right tackle and don't believe Ricky Jefferson returns as a starter at safety.

bolded has generally meant returning starter/ a guy who has started at that position before. not that the player is first string. KJ hasn't started at LT before. though Rickey Jeff has started at safety (I've also seen typos in the past)

Not disagreeing, only going by what is listed. Toby being bolded and Ricky Jefferson not being is what I'm basing it on.

Based on how Aranda defines the roles of his OLBs it is NO surprise Divinity is ahead of Bower. Bower is a converted DE, will not match up well with TE's or RB's in coverage. Bower will see the field some in pass-rushing sets. C. Thompson would have been ideal in this F/OLB spot with his exp/skills and size. Hope Divinity has a great game, GT!

if you look at the game notes pdfs from last year ( LINK), they have Jennings bolded (and Harris not) though he's listed second on the depth.

it also says "BOLD indicates returning starter".

eta: and Toby actually has a start under his belt, though he's not a "returning starter" as most of us would define it. Les is just messing with us.

Again, I don't disagree. How does a guy like Delahoussaye not get bolded? Do you have to be the starter from last year? Why would you bold Toby then? It is probably just errors in many cases, but I assumed that meant no starter had been named because it was the only way to make sense of this particular chart.

I thought of that, too, but then why don't we bold RJeff and Dwayne Thomas?

If a kickoff goes out of bounds this year, BDP should be fired - on the spot.
Gamble should aim for the uprights every time.

Divinity and Thornton will be hell of OLBers before their career's are over with.

Sorry there is no way in hell that Teuhema will be the back up to LT and RT. The guy started as a true freshman at G.

I remember seeing this dudes first kick against Wisconsin and I thought he could legitimately kick it 150 yards. He was 3 touchbacks for 4 kicks in that game (first college game ever).

Last year he had 5 touchbacks in 43 attempts!!
I assume it's because ST "strategy" went retarded.
I know that a little more goes into it than this... but we were 6-0 in games where we had at least one touchback. and 3-3 in games with 0 touchbacks.
