My take on last years football team from the rant.
1. J.Lee's fails at reading the defense and recognizing which reciever to throw too. This is clearly J.Lee's fault and not a coaching problem.
2. Chad Jones couldn't cover last year and fails to recognize his assignment on defense. This is clearly the coach's fault and has nothing to do with Chad Jones as a player.
3. When offensive production falls off Les Miles has clearly taken over play calling from The Wizard.
4. Lane Kiffin and Nick Saban can go to hell.
5. LSU has lots of future linebackers in the secondary.

I agree Doc. You are doing a great job with this thread. I don't think anyone on this board could imagine the pressure that kid had to endure last year. The fact is that he also showed the abilitry to perform under pressure several times in clutch situation (Aub and tying the game vs. Alabama). I know he screwed the pooch against Georgia early, but he caught fire late and may have come back and won that game had he not gotten hurt and our defense been able to stop anything.
JL may end up being a great qb, but certainly I will take him as a capable back up any day.

I'm pretty sure he is just over 6 ft tall. IMHO, he should redshirt (although he said he won't). If he is gonna be an elite QB, he should redshirt and develop. Grow a little and put on some muscle. Work on his release and throwing motion. Learn the playbook. Also, it would put a year between him and Lee/Jefferson, so he could get two years to start.

I think people (like tojo and hotrod) have me all wrong.
I don't wish the kid failure, I just think jordan jefferson is a better QB from what I have seen.
it's my opinion, and I think we're all entitled to that on the rant still, right?

bottom line is, the LSU defense let the team down a bunch last year, and it looks as though miles is correcting the problem with that.
the chavis hire was a good start.
from reading about players talking about how fired up he is already, i'm pretty pumped about the 2009 season.
I, along with a lot of other fans, want to see a attacking defense again, not a wait and react one.

You're right though...Nobody wants to see Lee fail (I don't)...I'm pulling for the kid and respect him battling...I just wanna see what JJ can do 6 or 7 games and I hope Les give JJ every opportunity he gave Jarrett Lee last year...

I think many fans thought Lee might be on suicide watch and want to give him some support.
Off the field he seems to have handled things the best he could. Him coming back shows me is a tough guy.
