LSU Tigers can definitely beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa, if true, their record shows they won’t choke in the SEC title game.

Past performances, especially by teams that played before the current roster was born, have no impact on LSU’s likelihood of winning in Atlanta

That 2005 loss to UGA sucked.

I really can’t blame the team and coaches for losing the 2005 game. That was the season that Katrina and Rita hit and the start of the season was postponed. Even the home game vs. Arizona was moved out there.
Once the season started, the team had no break....no bye week to rest and heal. And there was the stress of their displaced families, etc. The team was worn down by the time SEC Championship Game was played.

Just thinking back to that season, even if we had beaten Tennessee (totally should have) and Georgia, we no doubt would’ve been fricked by the BCS and would’ve been left out of the National championship game as an undefeated team

As did that Monday night game versus Tennessee in 2005. That was the first Miles choke job. Took a 21-0 lead into the locker room at the half, just to lose in OT.

Yep, and right before the half LSU had the ball around the Tenn 20 yard line. Instead of kicking a field goal to go up 24-0 Miles mismanaged the clock and time ran out without even a field goal attempt. Sounds familiar.

I was at this game, but have no recollection of this happening.

Come to think of it, I don't remember anything from this game except for Tennessee winning it on the last play of overtime.

Just watched that part of the game on YouTube. LSU had the ball on Tenn 5 yard line! And did not even get a field goal attempt before time ran out for halftime.

At least he threw up his fists going into halftime with the 21-0 lead

Damn that was a memory I had repressed.

The only thing I remember is that was by far the most miserably hot game I have ever been to in TS…even hotter than App State 9am kickoff

100%
not sure there was a big difference between sitting in Tiger Stadium that night, or being in an actual sauna.

It did but that was still a special season considering all the circumstances surrounding it. At least we got to beat the tar out of Miami to end the season on a good note.

And I just realized how many times we've had backup QBs playing in that game.

01 - Mauck replaced Rohan Davey due to injury
05 - Flynn replaced an injured Jamarcus Russell
07 - Ryan Perrilloux replaces an injured Flynn
11 - Jordan Jefferson wasn't really the backup, but Lee played most of the season due to suspension, still dunno why JJ got the nod over Lee who was playing well throughout the season

03 and 19 were the only times we got to play our QB with the most starts on the season.

Agree with this. The bleachers were unbelievable hot that night. The concrete in the stadium was brutally hot as well.

12 straight games sunk that team vs Georgia.

Agree. I was not at the App State game, but LSU/Tenner 2005 was the hottest game I've been to.

Underrated hot game was LSU/Florida 2013.
