Yeah, but he was an absolute huge man and had arms big enough to tear your head off your body. If Bill Elko gets a mention you have to mention the late Eric Andelsek. He was huge too. Toby Caston too.

No kidding. Seriously, I’d pick a healthy Michael Brooks on defense over everybody listed in this thread. Before he got hurt he was an absolute nightmare.

I was at the Arky game where he bout killed that dude. Biggest hit i've seen in person. He rocked himself as well.

Can't believe we're this many pages in before Fournette gets a mention. That man murdered some safeties and linebackers. Most of the CBs just shied away.

Chad Jones vs Arkansas was probably the single hardest hit I've ever seen in college football. It was Jadeveon Clowney level. For consistent hard hits, I'd probably go Laron Landry.

Also, pretty much any WR in the Miles era on special teams. All of those dudes laid the wood.

Michael Brooks was a beast. Those linebackers of the 1980s were sack and hitting machines. Just look at the record books, there names are among the top for sacks.

Big Al Richardson has to be on that list. IDK why everyone always forgets LSU's all time tackles leader, especially in linebacker-related topics.

And, speaking of Bradie James, he used to call Norman Lejeune "Hurricane" - because, as he described it - if James was upright trying to make/clean up a tackle and it was taking a little too long, he would tense up/flinch because he knew Lejeune was coming full speed and didn't care if teammates were in the way.

Steve Rehage and its not close. Although, Stevens put a couple of hits in the championship game that were noteworthy.

Michael Brooks is my favorite all time defensive player.
Fans who didn't list Rehage are too young to have seen him play.
