what if there is more to do with your life than LSU football???

im happy that some of you go to every game and stay til the bitter end, but man, there really could be more important things going on in peoples lives than staying until the bitter end

one of those was go chill with friends somewhere where i could drink and relax (cause tailgating early after staying up late really takes the life out of you) and i wanted to get some sleep so i could wake up and go hunting..

not everyone's lives revolve around lsu football (lsu sports)

sorry

Not trying to single you out or get personal with you. So don't take offense because I quoted you. I am actually quoting everyone who has made a similar comment to yours. Sadly, this is a big part of the current LSU fanbase. Bandwagon fans. You could take it or leave it. If they are doing well, you're there. If not, eh, the hell with them. You have other things to do. It's just ashame that you have the tickets instead of a diehard fan who either couldn't get one or couldn't afford one.

That really doesn't make any sense. You had to leave a 3 1/2 hour game early on that day, one of only 8 such games all year, so that you could "go chill with friends somewhere"? So, you and your friends couldn't "chill" there 45 minutes later? Or the next day? Or next weekend? Or the entire spring and summer? And you were incapable of staying in the stands and still getting up to go hunting? I had to get up to drive 18 hours back to DC, but somehow those extra 30-45 minutes in the stadium simply did not incapacitate me the next day.

Kinda sucks that the success of the program has made going to an LSU game is now "the cool thing" to do. Now people with too much money who want to be "cool" buy the tickets that real fans cant afford. Seems success drives prices up on everything. Maybe the new presidential hopeful could also tell the University how much they can make. Bread on every table, meat in every pot and an LSU ticket in every "tax credit check".

The reputation of Tiger Stadium and the LSU fans was built by real fans in the past. The current fan base is not even as good as cardboard cutouts. At least the cardboard fans would stay until the clean up crew hauled them off.

People will agonize over whether certain recruits will sign with LSU, but can't hang with them during a game to show support. TIGER BAIT, TIGER BAIT......oh wait......we're losing.....never mind, let's go tailgate some more. Sad.

Before I start, I'll state for the record that I scanned the 1st 2 pages of the Rant, and didn't see that this topic had been discussed. That being said, am I the only one who was embarrased by so many LSU fans leaving Tiger Stadium early on Saturday? That was ridiculous.

The CBS crew, which has no reason to slam LSU, commented a few times about the early exodus out of Tiger Stadium. Imo, that really looks bad and reflects negatively on the LSU fanbase.

I only get to go to one or two games a year, but we NEVER leave early. Seriously, what has happened to LSU fans, that so many can't even stick it out until the game is over? When LSU came back within 7 pts. at one time during the 4th quarter, the announcer even joked, "I wonder how many people are listening on their transistor radios in the parking lot?"

Like I said, that was embarrassing. LSU only plays 7 or 8 home games a year. You'd think the fans could at least stay for 4 quarters. That's a joke.

let me put it to u this way...to some it's like watching a close relative pass away slowly...

So, in sticking with your analogy, you would leave your loved one on their deathbed? You wouldn't think that maybe they would want you to stick around for them?

Interesting point and I understand the pain, but do you abandon a close relative to die ALONE?

Then why show up to the game in the first place if you can't afford to spend all of that time in Tiger Stadium?

This has nothing to do with: ticket prices, making our fan base look bad, looking bad to recruits, what the scoreboard says, or "I paid for it, I can leave when I want".

If you call yourself an LSU fan and you attend the game, then stay. Period. A true fan sees their team through no matter the score, the weather, etc., and always believes we are still in the game. An excuse it just a fancy way of accusing yourself.

If you want to leave early or don't believe we're going to win (especially in the Les Miles era with so many come from behind wins), then just don't come to the stadium. Bitch at your tv or radio, so I don't have to bitch at you at the game and tell you how shameful it is that you're teaching your child to give up when you drag them out early.

Obviously there are some who still want to talk about it. If you want to start a thread about football, it's still a free country. Just allow others the same freedom.

Before last season, I was like most LSU fans. I left when LSU was leaving big or I left when LSU was losing big. However, after last season, it taught me to realize that LSU can change the game at any moment. I remember Les' first game at LSU (vs Arizona State), and we were down like 14 or 20 points going into the 4th quarter (something like that) and I left to go to the Caterie. When I had arrived to the Caterie, it was all the sudden a game again; I was blown away. After that moment, I realized LSU can come back at any time, so from now on I never walk out on the Tigers nor do I give up on them.

you bring your family including a 2 year old to a football game that is over a 2 hour drive on a non game day and when your family is asking you to leave when your team is getting its arse handed to them.. you have ever right to leave.

I'm sure most of you do not need to drive over 2 hours to get home and thats not including the 1 hour of sitting in traffic. me leaving the stadium early is not going to affect the game in anyway. I'll listen to the end of the game on the radio.
