seconded

but seriously, if you guys are serious about breaking from the old guard, I'm all for getting a bar we can set up shop in on game days.

For those of you thinking that Austin would be an escape from the heat of Baton Rouge:

thanks, Cantore

but it's not really fair for you, living in southern Oklahoma, to be commenting on the weather in central Texas

thanks

Sir,

I would NEVER live in such a state as Oklahoma.

It's hot, dry, and filled with pretentious people who made their money in oil!

Wait....damn.

the one big drawback is that you cant watch two different HD shows on two different tv's at the same time. And, they say they'll have that worked out with these new boxes that are due out before the end of the year. If you live alone or only have 1 TV that's capable of supporting HD, it's a non-issue

Ahh, yeah, that sounds like the part I didn't like. What if you want to watch one show in HD and DVR another in HD?

But if they get that worked out, it sounds pretty good.

Can you get the nfl sunday ticket? I doubt I would order it anyway, but it would be nice to at least have the option

I am all about getting together and watching a game. I am kinda excited about it now cause I was seriously bummed out having to watch LSU games with Texas fans. It's just not the same unless you have some people to yell at the TV with.

I didn't read the whole thread but I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. Most are televised nationally these days and the only games that aren't are Middle Tennessee, etc... which are over by halftime.

I agree with some of the posters about the game view-in location here in Austin. I moved to Austin last year and I did attend a few of the games at Shoal Creek last year and I had a great time. The one draw back in my opinion is the TV size--they don't have any large TV's to watch the game on at Shoal Creek. One of the problems the Austin Alumni Association has let me in on is that most of the good sports bars already have other alumni associations or fans (UT fans) that watch the games at their bar. I think LSU Austin has had a tough time finding a new bar. I think if a bunch of us came up with a place to go for the Appy State game, maybe the bar we choose would be interested in hosting LSU games. I am definitely up for going to watch the game with tiger fans! For those interested, lets plan on starting a thread a few days before the Appy State game. For all the new Tiger Fans in Austin--Welcome to Austin! And by the way, don't feel bad about a little ribbing about LSU paraphnelia, I go back and forth with Auburn Alumni all day at work

Girls girls... stop fighting.

And definitely try to make the SEC picnic. We need to have the most fans.
