We were only in 6th because we had a shot at the natty, now with 3 losses we are right where we should be

The only reason LSU was ranked so high was so the committee didn’t have to explain why a 2-loss team jumped other teams for the playoffs, had LSU won out. It was just a safety net.
Now that they’re out the committee can rank them where they really wanted to in the first place.

LSU was ranked higher than a strict analysis of their entire body of work would suggest. The committee was giving less weight to their early losses because they had a 5-game winning streak including impressive wins against Bama, Ole Miss and Florida. They looked like a team that had improved as the season went along.
That narrative was obliterated by the embarrassing loss to A&M. Combine that with both Ole Miss and Florida going out with a whimper and suddenly the Arkansas game takes on greater significance to suggest LSU was just a highly inconsistent team with fewer high quality wins than it once appeared they did.

Clemson loses to SC East and drops one. From 5 to 14th??
SC is better than A&M and who cares? We have no chance to go to the playoffs

Pretty sure we'll be unranked when we lose to Georgia.
That’s dramatic. We won’t be ranked lower than 8-win teams. SC, UT, ND, etc

Not shocked. Its fair . We were awful and got totally dominated by a 4-8 team that had been in complete disarray all year.

It’s irrelevant anyway unless you’re in the top 6 or so. We are not making the playoffs even if we were to beat UGA 50-0, so why worry about the CFP rankings? Let’s focus on beating UGA (they ARE beatable you know…) and then get into a respectable bowl game.

Yea, A&M is bad and the loss was embarrassing.
Just because you show awareness of and include the explanation in the question, doesn’t discount that explaination.
What more do you need? It wasn’t just the fact of the loss. We looked like dogshit against a dogshit team, and the final result wasn’t even close.
You seriously equate that to a one point loss against a rival which is also a ranked bowl eligible team?
