Jimbo has a many 10-win seasons WITHOUT Winston as Chizil had total seasons coached at Auburn. Also has as many Conf championships without Winston as Chizik does WITH Cam.
Jimbo is in his 9th season as a head coach and still doesn’t have as many losses as Chizik does in only 6 seasons.
In fact, Jimbo would have to lose every single game between now and week 8 of next year just to tie Chizik in career losses.
I get it if you don’t like Fisher.
But comparing him to Chizik is just plain stupid.

so he is supposed to take these teams the last 3 years 8-5, 8-5, 7-6, & go undefeated in his first year of rebuilding? he already proved he can rebuild a program & win a NC & multiple conference titles. to say lsu dodged a bullet after only 8 games he coached so far is dumb.

Jimbo will be successful but at what costs? He was successful in a relatively weaker ACC and he entered with huge brand recognition of the FSU pedigree. Then Clemson surpassed him. He cut corners in terms of handling discipline problems and he feuded with administration. He was fortunate to win that NC game vs Auburn, let alone how weak his schedule was in 2013.
Really doesn't matter now. I would be shocked if aTm sniffs a national championship while he is their HC.

Its his first year. I remember some saying the same about bama and Saban in his first season which ended 7-6. He will be winning there long after we’ve forgotten the shrimp boat captain.

Actually, those of us that are actual LSU fans and have been for years had plenty of reason to dislike O long before he was hired into this staff.
He was no friend to this program for over a decade, and the questions about his leadership and character went far beyond his dismal record as a head coach, which all by itself should have disqualified him from the position he now holds.
16 and 17 were mediocre. This year has been great, hope it continues.
But more importantly, it needs to continue after Miles’ DC and Meyer’s QB are no longer winning games for him
