I'll be honest, I could see us beating Bama but losing to A&M, letting Ole Miss get destroyed by UGA/Tenner in the SECCG, sneaking into the Fiesta, and destroying the UM/OSU loser.

Honestly, a really good end to the season.

Your hypothetical requires OM to win out, which I don't think they'll do. If they lose just one more game and we beat Bama, we could lose another conference game after that and still go to Atlanta.

OM will probably beat 4&8, but if Aggie wins then I'll take joy in the fact that Aggie has - inadvertently - helped LSU get one step closer to the SECCG (again, assuming we beat Bama this weekend).

Honestly I'm worried about the A&M game. It's got "trap game" written all over it. Tigers gotta be prepared. When a team has nothing left to lose, there's no telling what can happen.

I had the same concern about going to Auburn earlier this year. If ever there was a trap game on LSU's schedule, that was it. And, at first, it look like we'd stepped into the trap...

...only to fight our way back into a win. After that game I felt a LOT better about LSU's ability to win on the road and also about their ability to deal with early-game adversity.

So, yeah, 4&8 looks/feels/tastes like a trap game, but I think the Tigers have the experience and maturity to win that game no matter what happens.

A&M has Ole Miss Florida Auburn Umass and LSU left. They beat umass and Auburn getting them at 5-6. All leading up to season finale hosting LSU.

Last thing I would be worried about if it gets to that. Hopefully we are playing for a lot more than playing spoiler on Pay&m. We caught some teams overlooking us the last couple yrs and I dont want to have that happen to us.

I think it will be decided before they get to us. If they beat Florida then I think they beat Auburn. And are 6-5 coming into LSU.

If they lose, then Auburn is a toss up and they might be 4-7 coming into LSU.

Either way, it’s unreal that they are this bad.

I want to keep Jimbo at A&M for a few more years.

I think he gets at least 2 more years. We've all seen these things play out in the past and the first thing is usually to sacrifice the staff and clean house. Recruiting will suffer and attracting top coordinators will be very difficult. If things don't turn around, and they usually don't when you have someone perceived as a lame duck, they will eventually negotiate a reduced buyout settlement.

I’m not backing my statements with links. If you don’t believe it you can go look it up. Don’t know why anyone would not believe Lane is a smart arse.
