Is there a more pathetic list than what we did?
We pulled in one good coach and then shut it down to make easy hires

Brought in O’s buddy James Cregg to coach OL.
Moved Dennis Johnson to coach DL.
Promoted Greg McMahon to ST.
Promoted Ensminger to Co-OC.
Promoted Jerry Sullivan to Co-OC.

I'm really not that disappointed in Ensminger. I'm extremely disappointed in the sequence of events that led to his hiring though. If you think he is the best person for the job then fine, so be it. But to come to that conclusion without even giving the illusion of a search is mind boggling. It's a potential million dollar job and there was no thought put into it.

These were both good hires. Cregg is a well established O Line coach and Meatball is loved by both O and Aranda for his coaching and recruiting acumen.

What do you know about Cregg to make the statement the he was hired because he is O's buddy and that is the only reason? What I read about him is that he is a very good coach. And I haven't heard a lot of talk about USC's oline sucking. I remember people complaining every week about Grimes.

I honestly give ULL the nod in coaching hires, they have put together quite a good staff considering size school they are.

This is just fricking pathetic. As a fanbase, i'm not sure how we allowed this to happen. Fans and LSU athletes deserve better.

Word on the street is O has pissed off some big boosters because of these hires which in turn has shortened his leash even more. Who knows if it's true or not but it wouldn't be surprising if it was.

If any personnel group showed under-development, it was WRs. Yeah, passing game was limited by Etling, but Etling was affected by WRs greatly. Sullivan is most definitely a proven WR coach. I'm thinking this might turn out to be an excellent hire.
The rest, I agree for the most part with the 'meh' comments.
