still doesn't make it a smart move.

I hope some good comes of this and if ppl are walking RR after games maybe they will think twice about doing it again.

It's sad that it takes this to drag me from lurker to finally posting, but he's a good friend of mine as well (also from LC).

He was walking from Aspen Heights to LBP so it was a mere 5 minute walk so it's not like he was just wandering around on River Road.

Hope he makes a full recovery. Probably didn't stop for two possible reasons. Too drunk to know what happened. Too scared cause he was drunk and would ge charged with DWI and hitting a pedestrain. with the recent BRPD handling of Jefferson proably figured he was facing the death penalty.

I am not fimiliar with the specifics of the area, so I will ask why couldn't he have walked on the levee? Was he out partying?

What a jackass the driver is! He has to know he hit somebody.

Actually, he might have no idea.

A 200 pound person barely registers as a bump on a multi-thousand pound vehicle going 40 mph or so unless he falls into the windshield.

He was walking home (they are on the same side of RR and maybe 1/10th of a mile apart). He was definitely partying, but not to the point of playing chicken with a car on river road. they were all on the shoulder/ bike path deal

I'm calling BS on this. We inadvertently ran over an armadillo last night and it was an unmistakable sound/feel.

I've run over small animals in the night before myself and a pothole is a bigger jolt.

You can tell the difference b/c the wheels bump more but if you deliver a glancing blow with your mirror it would barely register.

I am sorry for this injury

River road is a death trap. They need a pedestrtian/biking walkway. Bikers are always on river road with traffic passing in both directions.

I would say they would know, but what your saying is definitely possible even if they were stonecold sober.

Whenever BRPD finds this piece of shite I hope he gets arrested and penalized severely. Prayers sent. I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

And I agree that River Road needs a walking/biking lane. Maybe this will prompt the city to do something about it.
