I wasn’t aware of the CEH shooting until last year and was shocked to hear about it. According to reports, Clyde has severe PTSD and often wakes up in the middle of the night and immediately vomits when thinking about the incident. I think the PTSD label gets thrown around way too liberally, but this shooting seems to have had a severe impact on his everyday life

I’m simply asking how much are these coaches stressing to the kids about having guns in the first place?

They are football coaches, not parents

I believe they can. When I first researched it I saw that they couldn’t have a gun in their vehicle, but then I read they could because it’s protected under the U.S. Constitution.

How is it that a few LSU players have been caught with a gun or arrested for possessing a gun and nobody ask if they’re bringing these guns in their cars on campus?

What?
quote:

Are the coaches telling these players they aren’t allowed to have guns in their cars on campus etc.? That if they get caught with a gun on campus that they could be kicked out of school and face criminal charges?

No the coaches tell them they can have guns and even have target practice in their dorms.

Malik Nabors for example was arrested for possessing an illegal firearm in New Orleans. I guarantee you he kept it in his vehicle.

Ok we should retroactively suspend him.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire shot & killed someone in self-defense because the guy he shite tried to rob him. This was in December of 2022 while trying to sell his PS4, Amother LSU Football player, Jared Small, was with Clyde when the incident occurred.

Clyde went off campus to sell an expensive item. He was also a sophomore. It's more likely than not he had his gun in his off campus apartmnet and brought it with him for the sale of an expensive item.
quote:

I like Malik & Clyde don’t get me wrong but both were caught in very bad situations involving a gun. I’m not trying to knock them, but just trying to make a point.

Malik literally just got patted down while in the french quarter during mardi gras, an area that becomes a gun free zone two weeks out of the year.

See above for Clyde. Thank god he had a gun.
quote:

I hope our coaches are using this example with JT Lindsey to explain to these players about possessing a gun then bringing it in on campus etc. You can get criminal charges even if the gun is locked in your vehicle while on campus.

These kids need to be reminded that if they even want a chance at having a career in the NFL, they need to make good decisions and not throw away opportunities that most people would love to have.
Do you honestly think they haven't had these discussions? Every school in America has these discussions. You are either stupid, naive, or both.

I believe that had more to do with the shooting at the Chiefs super bowl victory parade where he shielded a young fan (like 10 years old) and stayed with him until he and his parents reunited.

Louisiana state law has an exception to firearm free zones on campus for guns located in a vehicle

What you just sent in that link is laws pertaining to bringing a firearm to a parade.

Guns are absolutely prohibited in LSU’s dormitories.

See link below for LSU’s Residential Life Polices: Page 3 last section under “Weapons.”

I can understand that but unfortunately if things go wrong for them, they fave consequences and those consequences may cost them their freedom and a potential NFL career.

I realize that now. First thing I found said otherwise but it wasn’t correct.

Yea it’s sad. He even had to take a break from the Chiefs for a while because of the PTSD. Hopefully it will help that he’s home now.

It’s probably both incidents that has caused his PTSD.

I’m sure they do. My point was to what extent? We had a player commit suicide, and now this with Lindsey all within a few months. They need to do more than just talk about it once or twice. You obviously missed my point so I don’t think I’m the stupid one here.

Or they could end up in a casket or life changing injury if they don’t have anything to protect themselves from harm. Trust me, none of these kids are thinking about going to do something crazy. However, trouble can find them any day of the week..that’s why there’s a need to carry. If this was Nebraska or Wyoming..there would be no need to carry.

That was supposed to say December 22, 2018 not the year 2022. My apologies. Apparently it autocorrected and I didn’t catch it.

I've never even thought of whether or not that was allowed. I've had my gun in my vehicle on campus many times.
