This is just a return to what it was. Noel began as meaningless games that were a reward to the players. For many years the national champion was declared by AP etc before the bowl games.

I can't agree with that more. I was wishing and hoping to play USC in the Las Vegas Bowl, but the Aggies have been chosen for that one. Also Michigan or Nebraska would have been okay. Baylor in the TaxAct is still better than Duke, in any bowl game

I disagree there. Move the bowls to Labor Day weekend instead of these kickoff classics and bring life back into them.
Have the CFP if you want it then have a 32 team NIT starting the week before the CFP, plays on Thursday's until the CFP semis then moves to Saturday. OR...just end the season for all who don't make the CFP
if kids want to opt out and not play in the NIT, so be it. I hate seeing these bowls lose all their fun, excitement and luster.

They should just let early enrollees participate in non playoff bowls. Bet it would increase viewership on the lesser bowls.

Come on this board after a bowl loss and let’s see what the reaction will be. I can assure you that excuses will not be accepted and there will be outrage. Players will be called out and coaches will get blame. To believe anything else shows that you haven’t been paying attention.
