Right now, other than Duke and Kansas, it's hard to say who is really good and who isn't because not many teams have played tough opponents. For instance, Virginia is #4 (and getting 1st place votes) even though they've played no one worth a shite. If you go by RPI rankings (which don't mean all that much now) LSU is #4 and they have played the 11th strongest schedule to date.
Polls in basketball are virtually meaningless any way. We'll have better idea of this LSU team after this week (particularly if they meet Florida St.)
The pessimist says: LSU struggled to beat La. Tech at home and isn't that good.
The optimist says: LSU was still able to get a win despite playing their worst game of the season (Awful 3pt and FT%; outrebounded, leading scorer virtually a non-factor)
The reality is they are probably somewhere in between right now.

Actually, I would agree with LSU's ranking at this point. And, up until now, I have not commented on LSU's ranking.

Your post would not mean anything in a couple of weeks, you posted they do not deserve or they are not as good as there ranking right now, which is categorically false by any metric you use. Second in a couple of weeks they will have played more games than they already have thus far and nobody knows how healthy Reid is/will be. Ankles are a tough injury in any sport but especially for a big in basketball. They also will probably have played atleast two power 5 programs by then.

I actually love it, but to each his own, think once the 1-3-1 becomes truly reliable enough to use for longer than 2 possessions at a time it will open up all of the other half court defensive sets like the run and jump 2-3 and the Triangle and two they have been working on for SEC play.

I love the 1-3-1 and like how they disperse it within the game situations
I was more talking about the conventional 2-3 or 2-3 matchup. Tech was getting cake looks all night against that shite and it was hurting us on the glass. When we went back to man and came out of timeouts in the 1-3-1 3/4 court it really knocked them off balance. Remember when we flashed the 1-3-1 at the end of the Missouri game last year? That was a great call
Just got to get better in man when we have the right lineup(KBW switching has been effective for us). Perhaps we’ll get better in zone with time.
Eta- we’ve played largely dreadful zone dating back all the way to some Brady teams so anytime i see a 2-3 its a ptsd thing
