He might be lurking on the OT right now.

I'd love for Floyd to be our coach. Hell, I've stated that in the past on here. The guy can flat out coach.

For Christ's sake he made UNO, ISU and USC all very relevant in basketball.

I know you are joking, but I would so take Eustachy. That dude can coach. He supposedly has his demons on lockdown. Also, he and Floyd are buddies.

If Larry Eu has his demons locked down, I'd take him, but he will never live down a story my cousin told me about him:

My cousin is a bar owner in St Louis. He's been working in bars in the area since he stopped playing JUCO baseball (about 20 yrs old). Well, there was something going on in STL one weekend that brought a lot of college coaches into town.

My cousin was out at a bar with some of his coworkers, most of them attractive females, one of which he lived with as just roommates, no relationship. They saw Tim Floyd, Larry Eu, and two other coaches whose names escape me now. He recognized them, and struck up a conversation.

They hung out drinking a while, when the bars closed at 1:30am, two of the coaches left, and Floyd and Eu wanted to cross the river (which means go to dirty strip clubs in East St Louis). They cabbed it to Illinois, and after about an hour Floyd left to go back to the hotel.

Eu was trying to run game on my cousins roommate the entire time. She was leading him on, he ended up back at their place at about 5 in the morning.

They go to her room, she says "you realize we aren't having sex right?". He says "I know, but how bout we just sit on the bed and watch porn for a while?"

I've seen Eustachy a couple of times with his kid at a local sandwich shop. Seemed very down to earth and focused on his kid.

But LSU would never go for a Eustachy. For starters, it took him several years to finally develop the USM program. Secondly, he's laid back on the bench, a la Trent Johnson. His assistants seem to do more of the coaching. Finally, he's closer to 60 than 50.

Don't see this as a good fit for LSU fans.

If people want a "flashy" hire that will bring enthusiasm to the program then go after Josh Pastner.

He is young, described as a "relentless" recruiter and an extremely intelligent person. He played under Lute Olsen and was Calipari's protege.

Yeh, Memphis is a good BBall program but it ain't elite. It would take some money, A LOT actually, to get him to come here but I think the results he could possibly bring would be worth it.

I'll get bashed, but he would be number 1 on my list.

Bruce Pearl would revive this program.

He can't be stupid enough to cheat hardcore again, right?

ETA: I want Shaka Smart.

merely hiring a coach won't do shite for the fans. young, old, white or black. It doesn't really matter. A simple hire isn't going to put butts in the seats.

How about Stan Heath from USF? This guy has done an awesome job with far less talent than the other teams in the Big East. He is about to get this team in the NCAA's. Since I live over here I read alot about him and hear about the job he is doing. Just beat Louisville too recently. I think he would be an upgrade.

I don't know if LSU ever taps that well in Hattiesburg for another head coach.

To be fair, it's not like there's a basketball version of Favruh playing for USM's basketball team right now.

And from what I know about Scott Berry and Paul Mainieri, I'd rather Berry.
