If he makes the tourney, he's golden. But this team is heading nowhere, fast.

Some observations about the game and some questions maybe someone else can answer.

Hickey is an incredible rebounder for his size. If Hamilton had made some of those point blank shots he missed he would have had another six to ten points. Likewise Storm missed a bunch of bunnies that should have been made. Turner continues to be a mystery. Very rarely gets an open shot(why don't we screen for him?} and when he does he is not knocking them down like we know he can. Stringer is not as good an outside shot as I at one time thought. Bass needs to start in his place and Stringer can come in off the bench. If his shot is hitting leave him in otherwise back to the bench. Likewise maybe Courtney should start in place of Ralston. Maybe that would wake him up and maybe Courtney can give us some better outside shooting.

Main questions: Why do we take so long to get into the game and play hard? Why can't Hamilton get good position on the low block? We started hitting him rolling to the basket in the second half but why can't he just post up and we get him the ball for his hook shot off the glass? Why are we such a poor shooting team overall?

We did a much better job of beating the press in the second half. Why didn't we know to do that in the first half? At least we adjusted well I guess.

I want to stay positive with TJ and losing an SEC road game is uncommon or horrible, but I'm tired of watching a team who looks to have no clue on offense. Great defense is fine and needed, but you're not going to shut anyone out in basketball. You've got to score. LSU never seems to ge good looks unless it comes off of a broken play or Hamilton gets good position down low.

Hamilton and either Hickey or Stringer is our entire offense recently.

The #1 question I have for this year is what in the hell has happened to Ralston Turner. He has gone from a very promising freshman player to not a double digit scorer in his last 6 games. He hasn't scored in the double digits in 9 of his last 10 games!

What happened???

I want the man to succeed, I really do. But to excuse missing the tourney, year after year, because we aren't a national power is BS. We have more tradition than most.

According to moneyg, you're only allowed to rank a school overall, not by sport.

you realize if we make the tourney this year that gives him a better ration than John freaking Brady?

Yeah, because we're looking really promising to make the NCAAT from here on out. We need to win 9 of our last 13 games to have a shot...sorry, not happening. We're likely losing 5-6 of our next 8. I certainly HOPE we can make it, but I just don't see it. We don't play enough bad teams from here on out to make it.

id almost rather a good run in the NIT then a one and done in the NCAA. gives us a few more home games and gives the team something to cheer about at the end of the year

We just look like a Hodge-podge of pieces out there. I don't see the goal, or the end game. Our program is fading away.

We can still recover (this season), but I'm not very confident.

and this means more to kids than all time tradition. they don't care if we went to 10 straight tourneys 20+ years ago.

Then CHANGE in the program is needed. It's completely unacceptable to miss the NCAAT 3 years in a row here. Stop making excuses.

We're headed in the right direction. If we land gathers and make the nit, I hope he keeps his job.

He's a good coach. I wanted to see progress this year. I've definently seen it. We'll be better next year. NCAA tourney is realistic next year.

He's building a consistent winner. I just want to see him land gathers, Martin, bridgewater, etc. Those are the type of players we are missing. We need someone who we can throw the ball to and get us twenty every night. Right now we're flush with solid players. A tasmin makes this group a top ten team in one year.

We should have ARRIVED by this year, enough of the baby steps. This should be an NCAA tournament team and it wont be. 2 wins in 2009-10 to 3 wins last year to 6 or 7 wins this year in the SEC won't cut it.

Don't count on it. He basically laughed us off recently. This has been another frustrating thing under Trent. We finally get some talent in the state and it's looking elsewhere.

From what I've read, he wants LSU if TJ is still the coach. He likes the staff, school, etc. He's not sure whether TJ will be the coach though.

Keep in mind that one of our starters is out at least for January with a broken hand. Hopefully we see him back by early mid-February. The team was beginning to take on a bit of an identity until the injuries and illnesses started taking their toll.
