I have been, and i think i am getting over it. I don't know why though...kinda like the way clowns scare me, there isn't really a reason to be scared, but damned if i don't jump and beat down everyone i see. :clownist:
ETA: just looked at his email..."clowe@".....clowe ~= clown....i figured it out

And I think whoever the new coach is should be granted some time. I think it's fair to say that we had unrealistic expectations of Trent Johnson. The program was in trouble when he came here and when the initial talent ran out, decline was inevitable. Even the best coaches needed some time to develop their programs in their early seasons.
Yeah, no.
Unless you think we should be satisfied with winning a quarter of our SEC games over three years, I'm not sure that our expectations even matter - a .250 winning percentage in the league wouldn't satisfy ANYBODY'S expectations.
And this business of "the program was in trouble" when the coach wins 27 games his first year largely rings hollow. Trent had the opportunity to capitalize on that first season and prevent what you call an "inevitable" decline, but instead he stood pat with Eddie Ludwig and a crippled Aaron Dotson other than wasting a year with Malcolm White as a transfer. He could have at least gone the JC route and found some players to tide him over until he could retool, but he wouldn't even do that.
This self-flagellation after Johnson's four years of goldbricking is unbecoming. There are programs of far, far less stature than LSU who are winning big right now, and the difference is in the leadership of those programs. Get the right guy, offer him whatever he wants to come here, and reap the rewards.

Agreed, we're talking basketball here, it doesn't take 4+ years to rebuild a program. One great recruiting class will do the trick but TJ has failed to produce one of those in BR.

bingo
and if the new coach can retain Hickey and O'Bryant, that's two pretty nice components right there.
and maybe the new guy can light a fire under Ralston Turner's arse

Your exactly right. This isn't football where LSU has a legit shot at any coach they want, atleast as good of a shot as any major program and a better shot than most. Because it is a elite football program. Thats just not the case in basketball, but it doesn't mean they can't hire a good coach. I hope they take their time and do it right. Most importantly hire the right fit for LSU. I still believe that TJ is a good basketball coach and a good guy. He just wasn't a good fit here.

What did it cost to become an elite football program? It wasn't elite prior to the arrival of Nick Saban. We hired Mark Emmert and he decided to go big time, paid the money, and got lucky. There is no indication that LSU is prepared to join the elite in basketball, or even become competitive.
