Like I said after all the girls were freaking out about the Auburn game…
That game will be forgotten after LSU beats Kentucky and Tennessee this week. I have no doubt LSU beats Auburn in the PMAC.
It was one of the dumbest melts I’ve ever seen. But the LSU basketball took the Rant’s ability to melt away with their 12-0 start so it all boiled over into one “told you so” melt.

because it was football fans not understanding how basketball works.

You’re in a good spot if your NET ranking doesn't move after you beat a ranked team.

The post-auburn melt on here rivaled last night’s Texas bowl melt. Both were so fricking stupid. Some people should not have access to the internet.

I know what I’m talking about queer. LSU doesn’t play Auburn again.

As of now we have 9 Quad 1 win opportunities left in the regular season not counting the SEC tournament. Say we go 5-4, that puts us at 7-5 in Quad 1 opportunities in the regular season not counting the SEC tournament. That would firmly put us in the three seed range based on past years assuming no letdowns in the Quad 2 and beyond categories. To me the floor is a 5 seed and the ceiling is technically a 1 for this team.

I want to see us play well in a true road environment or two before I say 5 is the floor.

The Auburn loss was never going to be a "killer" and frankly should have been expected. The "melts" were a byproduct of fans being over-confident before that game. It's hard to win on the road in CBB. It's harder when that is the first true road game for 80% of your roster. It's even harder when the opponent is probably the most balanced team in the SEC.
LSU held serve last night at home. They need to do so again on Saturday vs. a very good Tennessee team. Then, they need to find a way to get at least one road win in the upcoming games vs. Florida, Alabama and Tennessee. If they can do that (and beat Arkansas at home) LSU will be 4-3 in the brutal first 7 games with a more favorable schedule in the next 7

We did play well at Auburn the majority of the game. The problem is there were stretches where they played unbelievably bad and were beyond cold. Murray being out was also huge.

Don’t throw me in with that guy
Nice win last night. I thought UK was a 50/50 game going in. Wheeler going out early was huge, as was Tsh getting in foul trouble.
If LSU out-shoots teams, they will win a lot more than they lose. tho the FT shooting left a lot to be desired

There is a whole lot about this team to be excited and hopeful about. There is also some big things to be worried about.
The Good:
- our defense will keep us in the game with ANYBODY. There isn't a game we play where we won't have an opportunity to win. This defense has the ability to shut teams down for extended periods of time, which means we are never out of a game.
- we have rebounded pretty damn good, especially last night. If we aren't giving up second looks, teams just won't be able to score much.
The Bad:
- We have no real shooting threat, or any major threats to create shots. We have to score off of live turnovers and fast break rebounding to score points. Our half court offense is pretty bad. Pinson and Gaines can get to the rim, but aren't finishers down low and are also not creating open looks for anybody else. Reid and Eason are not strong down low. Too many shot fakes and shots going away from the basket than I would like to see from our bigs.
So, our defense will keep us in every game. Our offense will make it difficult to pull away in any game the other team matches us athletically. It will be frustrating, but exciting to watch the rest of the way.

I think the major source of fear was how the game started being down 18-1 against legit competition and how that was a continuation of a pattern of the team.
