Moore will end up at 1B. His tools at C are average at best, no slant to what he has done while at LSU
Almost 60% of his innings played last year were at second base in low A league for the Mets. I don't disagree with your post, just that it appears the Mets are experimenting with Tyler trying to find a position for him.

Here we go again.

Could be that his back injury prevented him from playing at C?

My only point was that he wasn't a terrible catcher. In fact, I think he was our best. I said that our best defense was with him at first, though. I'm not shocked that the Mets are trying him at 2B though. He played at SS often during high school.

About what?

I'm looking at the link I posted of Moore's minor league stats after he left LSU last year.

Tyler started 10 games at catcher for the Mets team and 30 games at other positions, including 25 games at second base.

OK, lets start over as posters. You know baseball and so do I. We are LSU fans. I don't think I ever called you names last year. I had lots of info that I shared, but could not share the source. Looking back on it, I knew too much.

WTF does that have to do with Tyler playing more at second and third base for his minor league team than he did at catcher?

And you made plenty of flaming, sarcastic remarks directed towards me last season.

But that does not change the fact that the Mets might not disagree with the other poster's opinion that Moore's future might not be at catcher.

And I looked up Tyler's Met bio and it doesn't mention an injury. If he was injured and that kept him from playing at catcher, okay.

He was injured and did not finish the season. I heard about it at the Cyclones Coach's Committee meetings.

Here you go twisting things again. The poster said he never thought Moore was any good at C. I said the Mets disagreed. They drafted him as a C and he played there. The fact that they are trying him at other positions does not change the fact that they drafted him as a C and therefore thought he was at least "good". We weren't discussing Moore's future. You were just looking for some reason to argue with me.

Did he keep his same walk up song with the Mets?

I respect your opinion on his skills at C, but how do you explain the Mets drafting him where they did as a C?

Teams draft players every year in positions they won't end up. Moore's skill set sets him up best for 1B. His glove wasn't above average for a college catcher. Not counting him out, but he's better suited for 1B

I'm not saying he wasn't a good catcher at the college level. Simply put he filled in at C when LSU needed him, players play out of position "all the time" in college, doesn't mean that's his beets fit moving forward.

I felt like his weakness at C was his arm, not his glove, but that is just my opinion. I agree that he has the tools to be an excellent defensive 1B. The question is--will he hit?

He has the tools to for a ceiling with a AAA organization and be a replacement for a team in need. Many many many players don't even reach that mark.

If you mean he "did not finish the season" because he didn't play in the Cyclones last game of the season, you're right.

But he did play in all the other last 6 games of their season including 2 games where he was listed in the box score as "C/2b".

He played in 63 of the Cyclones 76 games and only two other players played in more games than Tyler did.

You can be as sarcastic and call me all the names you would like to and get pissed off when I post facts that dispute what you've posted but your veracity is questionable.

Including when you posted above that you had a source. I asked you specifically last season in a thread if you had a source for Tyler and you replied no. So you either lied then or you're lying now.

And I agree with Adam. Players get drafted at positions all the time when the parent team really has no idea where the player will end up playing.
