Think he meant w/l record at a national power like lsu shouldnt matter as much. I get the point. I tend to agree with LE, PMs program recruiting has had some holes especially offensively but hasnt fallen off enough to warrant dismissal yet. Tbh, im just tired of losing in regionals/supers at the box to less than great teams, even though i know everyone does and its a short sample size

I agree, I'm tired of it too (although we were in the finals only 3 years ago).
With that said, I don't think these old established guys at programs on par with LSU are the answer.

But people want McDonnell because of his W/L record.
I’m talking about in a comparative sense, given the resources of LSU vs those of louisville.
The same way everyone said we couldn’t fire Less Miles because his Win % was so high.

This is hella tired because "resources" is such a catch-all term that no one really ever qualifies. This isn't the 1990's anymore. College baseball has since become the path-of-choice for pro development and SEC/ ACC teams are going to largely be on equal footing when it comes to "resources", give or take a few things.

For the powerhouse southern programs sure.
Louisville, no.

If Cannizzaro sleeping with a college girl is a character flaw, I may have character issues.

Because that was the only reason he got fired?

Thank you. That is all I said. I literally stated that I never said he was a good person but to try and act like that man cannot flat out coach is being in denial.
What has he proven as a head coach? He took an already loaded MSU team to a super regional? I guess you also think Smoke is the shite as well.

I feel like you have this weird idea that McDonnell is out there cutting the grass on off days like mid-major and JUCO head coaches do.

If it’s so easy then why has USC never made it back to a WS since Kingston has taken over for Tanner?? They were hella loaded when he took over.

Their stadium isn’t terrible but it’s not the box
They don’t recruit the same caliber kids or nationally like LSU
It’s cold
Smaller budget & exposure
Among other things

So, let me get this straight. Canni making it to a SR his first season is accomplishing something that's so easy to do. But Mainieri needs to go when he's pretty consistently made it to a SR?
You are using opposite arguments for two different people.

Louisville definitely recruits nationally.

No colder than South Carolina or Virginia.

You have a link to budgets? I have no doubt that LSU has a bigger one, but I think Louisville would be closer than you think.
As for exposure, it's about the same with the ACC Network and SEC Network being things.

Comparative to LSU lol no. They are very regional to the Midwest,

Definitely colder than Columbia. Prob the same as UVA. Not as established though,

As 2014 report shows LSU $5mil in expenses, 2nd nationally. Louisville $2mil, 25th,
LSU 300k twitter followers. 1st in attendance
Louisville 77k followers. Can’t even find them in the top 25 in attendance. No one in louisville cares about college baseball.

While I agree that the list is short, LSU is the pinnacle of college baseball. There are not many coaches that would turn down LSU if we came knocking with a damn strong offer.
bullshite. It's not 1996 anymore. LSU baseball is still strong, but there are many locations that compete these days that would be HARD or impossible to pull a coach out of.

All I know is that when I was a kid LSU baseball games were awesome! Now when I go it just doesn’t feel like LSU baseball.

So we have the same expectations as MSU baseball?? Come on man. I love Paul a person and he was a good coach for a long time but the game has passed him up. It’s eerily similar to Miles. Hiring friends and ex players and being content with a mediocre to average offense. I’m sorry but that’s not LSU baseball. We should be elite offensively with the talent we real in. I’m not saying we should be hitting hrs like the gorilla ball days but as a team we should be hitting over 300 and should have a couple players that hit double digit hrs. I can’t even tell you the last time that happened.

Who said that?
If we did have the same expectations as MSU, we'd want Cannizaro as head coach.

I feel confident we have a good hitting coach now. Smith seems to look at advanced metrics and tries to filter out alot of the noise to make it easier for the hitters. He seems hungry to find ways to make them better researching different stats, techniques, etc

You literally just compared Cannizaro and Mainieri and said I was giving Paul shite for doing what Cannizaro did. I gave you the reason why it wasn't apples to apples.
