Well what do you see? What about this team raises any questions for you?

Don’t just make a blanket statement. Back it up with something

Mainieri recruits tall pitchers.

Hess should be in the pen.

Concession stand prices are getting too expensive.

It's going to rain in June.

Where do you come up with this stuff?

Freeman struck out 24 times in 2017. Duplantis struck out 31 times. Robertson and B. Jordan struck out 32 times (Jordan didn't play in about 20 games).

Josh Smith struck out 33 times.

edit. Never mind, you were talking about Watson. In which case, i agree.

Benching Hughes after every 0 for 3 night is going to be a popular one this year too.

I believe he was talking about Watson who lead the team with 45 strike outs.

How does anyone live life everyday with an outlook like this? Most hyped team in 10 years at LSU but I’m going to choose to go into the season expecting disappointment. I believe there has to be something else you can do with your free time that is less gloomy.

Ahh, ok. I can see that now. I read it as them talking about the second batter (Smith), instead of a reply to someone saying the second batter should be Watson.

Well, if we are being fair, this team really has no place to go except down, given the expectations.

I'm one of Paul Mainieri's biggest critics, & this team is loaded, anything short of CWS Finals, will be disappointing

I think there are holes in the lineup. I think the Broussard/hughes combo leaves some to be desired. Both are serviceable, but I wouldn't put money on them in crunch time. We still lack a true firstbaseman, rather we convert infielders and teach them. And even with the new bat era I still think we lack some pop in the order. Whether that could come in the form of a 1B/DH we have not filled that void. I feel you need 1 or 2 guys in there that can put 15-18 HR's up.
I think there is potential in the pitching staff, but your going to count on a lot of parts that are unproven. you don't know what walker is going to do coming off injury, Marceaux may be the next Aaron Nola, but even Aaron had rough outings in sec play.

Again I like a lot of the parts and the potential, just have to see how they adjust to the bright lights.

Broussard was leading the team in batting last season before his injury. Hughes started hitting much better over the summer. Both are EXCELLENT defenders.

You make this comment during the first season in a while we actually have a true first baseman on the roster.

We have 3-4 that can put that up this year. Will all of them? Probably not, but I bet 1-2 do.

You, my friend, have taken the early lead for the worst baseball poster this season congrats. You have proven, even a few weeks before the season, that you are a uninformed poster who just likes throwing his idiotic opinions around.

I mean you're not off the mark, both have to hit this year or they will be caught by freshmen right behind them.

This is where I think you're off.

CJ Willis can play first base, Cade Beloso (I wish he were taller) but he's the first prototypical 1B/DH that LSU has had in awhile. Saul Garza could also slide there if need be. ALL three have power.

Tune in this year.

I don't disagree with this.

What I will say is every SEC team makeshifts their lineups to find the right 9 and has holes, no one in the country is loaded at every position.

Just admit you have no idea who is on this team because we have three guys that should be double digit HR threats. Maybe four

I couldn't have done it without the early copy of the baseball preview you sent me.
