This team gets the benefit of the doubt every year because of what the program accomplished over 10 years ago.

Enough of the best crowd, stadiums, and talent. The SEC has caught up to them. Hopefully a top 7 finish in the conference and a hosted regional. Gone are the days of a top 8 seed.

Take a look at the schedule/results of every other sec team this year, report back after you tell me what you noticed.

Just google said school and schedule. They are usually the same format and it’s easy to quickly scroll through each schools games so far and to come.

I’d say just about all of the sec teams besides Tennessee have had losses that are to way worse teams than the worst team to beat us.

Point is, if you just want to go by results then we’ve had above average ooc results so far.
Conference play hasn’t really had enough games to determine anything.
If you want to be mad it should be about the way we’ve lost , not really about who we’ve lost to

I’m waiting to see how we play when we figure out our starting rotation, until then I will stay optimistic because I believe we can be good when we put it all together

Program and a good bit of the fans are. With NIL + deep resources + a national baseball trail blazer local company, LSU should be able to close the gap with Vandy.

I get it’s year one. Year 2, if it’s the same meh identity and same excuses from some of our delusional fans, LSU will be on the road to College Baseball’s 1st Nebraska. A blue blood that’s now irrelevant.

Really hasn’t done shite since 2009 minus a run playing in the 2017 natty. 2013 and 2015 were deep natty teams that were pissed away.

The Apologists say:
That's baseball
It's just a mid-week game
It's still early
Next year we will be...

I say I will remain patient and hopeful for now, but I will be disappointed this year and every year that we are not competitive in the SEC and close to going to or in the CWS in Omaha.

Actually had this argument last summer about where lsu stood and if Arkansas was “elite”. This is the past 5 years I believe. Add state as a champ.

Eta: the categories are host a regional, national seed, super regional appearance, cws appearance, finals appearance, and champion.

That’s baseball schtick is a way the apologists mask an underperforming team.

Not discounting That’s baseball.. But not used in this context.

I’m not saying “that’s baseball” you started this thread saying lsu is living in the distant past. I’d you look at that spreadsheet, clearly we are near the top of the list in almost every postseason category.

This was since 2011 I believe…. If someone should be pissed off its South Carolina. They disappeared…
Green is other sec teams in general.
