Possible, they are a Big 12 dark horse.
I just didn't want to say they'd lose a game on the first weekend.

This was D1Baseball's write up on Kansas. had then finishing 6th in the Big 12. To get an early scouting report on next weekend.

Kansas put together a productive 2014 campaign, finishing 35-26 overall and playing in the Louisville Regional. But to emulate that success this spring, several arms will need to step up. Frank Duncan and Jordan Piche, who combined for over 200 innings pitched last season, are gone, and all eyes are on the pitching staff. KU senior RHP Drew Morovick, the Big 12’s active leader for career wins, spearheads the weekend rotation, while projectable lefties Ben Krauth and Blake Weiman, a freshman, round out the rotation. Krauth earned Northern California JUCO pitcher of the year honors last year, while Weiman is a three-pitch lefty with good overall stuff. Another freshman, RHP Ryan Ralston, occupies the closer role and has good stuff, getting up to 94 mph with his fastball during fall workouts. Sidearming RHP Stephen Villines is another quality arm for the Jayhawks, and he put together a good summer in the Northwoods League before fall workouts … Offensively, talented outfielders Tucker Tharp and Michael Suiter, who each finished last season with batting averages over .300, are gone, but this lineup has potential with the return of C Michael Tinsley, who hit .361 last year and raised enough eyebrows over the summer to earn an invitation to the Cape Cod League next summer. Meanwhile, athletic OFs Connor McKay and Dakota Smith should create post-Tharp/Suiter stability, while talented freshman 3B Matt McLaughlin made a strong statement in the fall and is expected to make an immediate impact. Another intriguing addition to this roster is DH Steve Goldstein. Goldstein, if you remember, previously played at Stony Brook, but redshirted last year because of transfer rules. Goldstein hit just .167 for the Seawolves two seasons ago, but the Jayhawks feel like he can and will make an impact.

Friday loss with Poche stinking it up and getting shutout.
That's right. I just put that out in the universe.
