Papierski may have better catcher skills, but Chinea will still be in the lineup as DH at a minimum.
He was "a 2014 Cape Cod League All-Star; he hit .310 (27-for-87) with four doubles and 18 RBI for the Wareham Gatemen."
He also had a HR in the Cape's AS game. He batted about .375 in the fall so I am pretty sure Mainieri will stick with him in some fashion.

You're right. But we know Mainieri can be loyal to a certain player to a fault and therefore definitely won't commit to Pap early.
My point is that Chinea's hitting will keep him in the mix both at C and DH. (Remember Beetle at Skip's camp? "If you can hit, you will play!")
I'd love for Pap to start his career as a Ross and develop as a hitter into Gibbs. The fact that he is a switch hitter is an awesome bonus. 4 doubles and a .333 average in the fall was impressive for a true freshman.
